Both OKC and Boston are one player away but Boston actually has the assets to make that happen. Plus they have guys from last years draft that could develop.

Portland has a bunch of late firsts, so yeah they can move contracts but they then don't have picks. Boston has no realistic title shot. Portland looked awfu til they found Nurk out of nowhere. Sometimes a team just hits lucky on a trade, if OKC does that, that's what's needed.

I will say this, because I like the different views we all have. Personally, I'd rather watch a good team every year and know they're a piece away. You never know when or where that piece is from, and for me the journey is the fun part. Right now there are definitely possibilities, we just don't know them.

Well Portland three of them so that helps. Portland is not a better team than us. I think they have more light at the end of the tunnel. If Kanter wants to renegotiate his contact dor about 12 million a year and Adams starts pulling down 15 & 10, I'll change my tune about them. I still don't see a path for us to improve. As far as Vic being better than CJ, I don't personally think so but I've also said that I don't think our system allows players to develop. If we swapped CJ for Vic, I wouldn't be surprised if I'm wrong.

This however I totally disagree with. They're older, worse cap wise, less talented, and have a whopping 2 extra picks. If they use those to dump bad contracts great, but now you still are capped and have less picks.

Vic is better than CJ now to me, he just isn't a 3 point shooter, but is better at a lot else (especially on defense). To add, they're a worse team.

Edit: I just checked Smitty's cap sheets. Portland is projected 30 mil into the tax next season.

I think Vic and CJ are just opposite sides of the same coin. They're both half dollars, but in opposite ways
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.
