The Nets have to be concerned that he's going to get pillaged by another team.

Definitely. Waiving Foye and letting KJ take his minutes, then signing CA is almost a no brainer.

Foye did his job. Now the season is almost over and having a vet like him isn't important anymore.

Kilpatrick is already 27 and has hit his ceiling, I rather give his spot to younger player, atleast 1 of the Hamilton and Nicholson should go or ideally both of them. This should be our 15 guys next year IMO barring any trades:

1) Lopez 2) Lin 3) Booker 4) LeVert 5) Whitehead 6) RHJ 7) Acy 8) McDaniels 9) Dinwiddie 10) Goodwin 11) FA 12) FA 13) 1st rd pick 14) 1st rd pick 15) Underafted or d-league

Don't forget that starting next season teams get two additional hybrid roster spots for development players who can freely switch between the NBA and G-League (still odd to write G instead of D), earn a little bit more money and can't be picked up by other teams.
I fully expect Marks to take advantage of it and a guy like Alexander might be a possible target for one of these spots.

But the deadline for waived veterans being playoff eligible has past already, right?

If so, I have a feeling Foye would rather be on the team for the rest of the season instead of starting his summer plans a few weeks early.

I'm not sure if the Nets want to do that to a vet like Foye. One minute is new culture and you are treating players like a family, and the next minute you are cut because is near the end of the season we have no use with you anymore bro.

Foye is different from Luis Scola and Greivis Vasquez, Scola asked to be cut and Vasquez was not healthy can't play at all. I will cut Nicholson if giving a choice to add Cliff Alexander.

The Nets aren't going to cut Foye. Fans tend to treat this like it's NBA 2K.

I dont think cutting Foye isnt a realistic option. He did his job and got 5 mil for it. If anything, foye would understand.

You discount the human element in all of this though. Ever see Foye over on the bench interact with the the younger guys?

Plus, Kenny trusts Foye as a ball handler and a presence out there with the younger players, he doesn't really turn the ball over a lot and you kind of need that when you a bunch of guys 23 and under who tend to get themselves into trouble out there.

Personally, I want Goodwin, KJ, and Whitehead to get all of Foye's minutes. But I see no reason to cut him.

I felt like I was taking into consideration the human element of things, but maybe not as much as I should've. With a little less than 3 weeks left in the season, I dont think the team is gonna fall apart without foye for 3 weeks, and I don't think it would hurt Foye all that much seeing as he got 5 mil to come here and mentor these guys, when he would've gotten vets min elsewhere. But overall, maybe it just sends the wrong message.

agree wholeheartedly. This season has gone from an ok start, to an abysmal middle, to a hopeful end. I would like to see the hope continue by allowing that trio to get a decent, even amount of minutes... maybe around 20-25 each game.

Foye did his job this year and was a great mentor to the younger guys. He can still do that on the bench and in practices. And I can see him taking on a player-development assistant coaching role somewhere/sometime in the future. He may want to ring chase after this year and I don't blame him for that, but I don't see him coming back next year, so just split those minutes amongst KJ, Whitehead, and Archie.
