Adam Dunn To The Brewers?

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Thu Jul 19, 2007 9:26 am

I didn't see a thread on this.

Rumor has it:

Brewers Receive:
Adam Dunn (OF)

Reds Receive:
Rickie Weeks
Tony Gywnn Jr.
Matt Wise.

I think this is a weak offer to Dunn but a Reds fan that is a credible source from another forum mentioned this.

What do you guys think?

that's a weak offer? I wouldn't trade Rickie Weeks straight up for Adam Dunn.

Your Reds source is full of ****. The Brewers aren't trading an elite 2B prospect like Rickie Weeks for a dime a dozen HR-hitting outfielder, who can't hit above .260.

I've heard the Dunn rumors for awhile but that's too much to give up for a .247 career hitter. Yes he has power....

Free agent after next season.

Weeks has sucked but I don't want to give up on him yet.

That's the big issue. As soon as he's traded he's allowed to opt out of his deal.

That, and something is obviously wrong with Ricky. I'd prefer to hold onto him in hopes that down the line he realizes his massive potential.

But not only would we have to sign (overpay) him as a UFA this offseason, but we'd be giving up Weeks and Gwynn, both of whom we have on the CHEAP for at least the next 3 years (not sure exactly when they become arby eligible).

This trade is absolute hogwash. If the Brewers are interested in Dunn, then I could see Jenkins/Mench & Gwynn as the participants, but in no way would the Brewers include Weeks and one of their better set-up men.
