I've never seen anybody get 15 blocks in an NBA game so it's that one.

Just this very evening, somebody posted a Wilt stat line for a game where they counted blocks. He had a QUINTUPLE-double that game. (And, as they always say, it wasn't even close - meaning he had enough steals but 20+ BLOCKS!)

Back then, I watched everything I could when Wilt played. I know that he was getting 10 blocks a game as a matter of course. What a shame they don't have that stat. Why don't they have someone go over all the film and count them and include them?

IF I can only find that post; I'll copy and paste it here to this thread.

Wilt Chamberlain:
3/18/1968 Sixers vs Lakers, W
53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists, 24 blocks, 11 steals (24/29FG, 5/10FT)

I copied this off a board somewhere. The blocks and steals must be unofficial.

Are those estimated? (Though I don't expect you to actually know. People usually just copy and paste on the internet.) One board (which this probably came from) listed estimated blocks and steals numbers in addition to the ones that have actually been listed in newspaper reports, which makes no sense. You estimate for a sample size, not for a single game. I said this, but no one ever did anything.
I remember your posts from the RPOY project, you consistently brought it. Please continue to do so, sir. This board needs guys like you to counteract ... worthless posters

Damn, Hakeem was 1 assist short of a quadruple double!

Duncan's game 6 in 2003 was better. I think some videos showed he actually deserved a quad double in the elimination game

There's no end to my embarrassment this evening (why I should try to single out this evening as if it's some kind of exception - beats me ...)
I post asking about this, your, very post. I don't see this, your, very post. I go to some other thread; beg for some help find a copy of this, your, very post, made earlier in some other thread (I think/hope?). Somebody links me back here.

Now what do I do?

And I can't even thank THEM for linking back to here; because I can't find where-when they linked it/you for me.

It's late; I better call it a night - tomorrow could not be more humiliating!
Could it? lol

P.S. It SEEMS to me that when I originally saw a (your?) post about Wilt's game that it included the phrase: that night/game they did count blocks (unofficial though it was). Got any idea what I'm talking about? I sure don't!

Shaquille O’Neal (1993): 24 points, 28 rebounds, 15 blocks

No one had a chance inside the paint that day.

Wilt had a game against ____ (oh god, I just forgot his name - he was a first-year phenom back then - never had a year equal to that after that - maybe what Wilt did to him in this game caused that?) Anyway, to "put him in his place" Wilt blocked EVERY ONE OF HIS FIRST-HALF SHOTS. Then at the beginning of the second half he said, "I'll let you score now."

Given that every game Wilt played in back then he had a double-double (points and rebounds); almost for sure he got at least 10 blocks that game too).

Being the most unheralded of the bunch and the shortest (who happens to play PG), I'll go with Fat "underrated" Lever...

I will take Chamberlains quadruple double instead:

http://ballislife.com/history-of-the-quadruple-double/
http://nbahoopsonline.com/History/Records/quaddouble.html

1967 EDF GM1 vs the Celtics: 24 points, 32 rebounds, 12 assists, 12 blocks

Or if it has to be triple double:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_career_achievements_by_Wilt_Chamberlain

53 points, 32 rebounds, 14 assists (March 18, 1968)

"Harvey [Pollack] said he used to tell one of his statisticians to keep track of Wilt's blocks in big games... One night, they got up to 25"
If you're asking me who the Mavs best player is, I'd say Luka. A guy like Delon Wright probably rivals his impact though at this stage in his career. KP may as well if he gets his **** together.

As great as those Harden lines are, I think Hakeem and Shaq controlling the offense, the boards and protecting the rim on defense in a much slower paced and inside-based league is pretty impressive.
