I can't make MLB predictions as I would just be copying and pasting from others insights. So I'll stop with the Crew. I just hope the Cubs don't win again.

Bregman isn't a rookie. I'll eat a hat if the Brewers win 85 games.

Am surprised to see folks thinking the Brewers will regress in the win total from last year.

Bullpen is probably worse
Villar and/or Perez could regress
Braun could miss more time than he did last year
No half season of Lucroy
We got a bit lucky last year
We will be experimenting with trying to squeeze value out of Garza and probably putting better pitchers in AAA or in middle relief for part of the season while guys like Chase Anderson throw 170 innings. If somebody like Peralta falters, we'll probably leave him in the rotation to "figure it out" for a long period of time...which I have no problem with but will cause more losses.

I think what's interesting is the utter lack of confidence anyone seems to have on the existing guys improving. It's like everyone is waiting on regression from Villar, Davies, Perez, Broxton, Guerra, etc. Given the ages of a lot of these guys, you would should reasonably expect improvements.

I like a lot of them but many are capped by talent. Broxton still strikes out too much, Guerra was a lucky pitcher whose xFIP didn't match his ERA, Davies is fine but is not an ace and he doesn't have the gas to be too much better than this, I can't imagine Villar having much better of a season than he had.

I honestly think all of them are either good trade pieces or long-term pieces, but I don't think they're the type of players to lead a playoff team. On top of all of that, we play in a division where the Pirates, Cubs, and Cards should pummel us.

I guess I come to expect the worst, but I am a little worried with regression with Villar and Guerra. Broxton the same size of success is still relatively small which scares me.

Most of all, I'm worried about the pitching and depth. I think if the position players run into any kind of injuries they are going to be in trouble unless they dive into some of the prospects and they can play right away. 1B and C could be real holes, even 3B if Shaw struggles. I'm not sold on the pitching at all. They are usually good at finding relievers but no idea what to expect. As for the starters, I'm not real high on Nelson, Garza, nor Anderson. I'm cool with Davies and think Guerra will at least be okay even if he regresses. Peralta could go either way and the safe money is he struggles.

I'm hoping for improvement, but I would be less shocked with 70 wins than 80 wins if I am being honest. I hope I am wrong though. It would be nice to have some meaningful baseball again.

I'm speaking as a guy that now lives out of market so only watches a handful of games and might make it to only 1 game this year, so take this with a grain of salt.

Barring a miracle run that actually gets us into the playoffs and seems to suggest that these guys really are a future contending core, sign me up for 100 losses over that scenario*.

Starting in 2018, assuming that Hader, Brinson, Phillips, etc. are starting to get a ton of time in the majors I will be fully on board an exciting rise of a season where they win 84, miss the playoffs, meaningful September games occur, and hope springs eternal.

* - I guess 100 losses may be a bit much because that suggests that some of the current core is complete trash and ended up not being able to be traded, but I'd rather have one more year of high drafting and not being tempted to buy at the deadline.
