It will be interesting to see what they have for an opening event. I doubt it will be a Bucks preseason game, maybe a concert or something to open things up. At the BC the first event was, surprise, a hockey game. The practice facility will be done this fall, the pics I've seen look pretty cool.

The Northwestern Mutual conference (over 10,000 people) is always at the end of July and they always have their main concert at the Bradley Center.

Northwestern Mutual Center(totally guessing) hosting the biggest event that Northwestern Mutual does??? Would be fitting if they open it up

I'm hoping for a 1 on 1 game between Marc Lasry and LaVar Ball. And if Marc wins, LaVar has to have his lips sewn shut for the rest of his life, needing to eat thru a tube.

Which is only limited to NWM employees. Would be very disappointed if the first event isn't at least open to the public. Would almost be comical.

Wouldn't bother me. Let NWM have it during the day and have an open house that night with an outside block party. They get their moment have the public can see it five hours later.

The BC had an open house for the public before that preseason hockey game. Miller Park did the same thing. I expect the public will get to see it before the first actual event, whatever that may be.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Since the NHL preseason starts right around when this place is supposed to open, I'm going to laugh my ass off if that's the first event.

This. Public open house event, then most likely a big name concert.

White collar and Hipster charity, need to make that segment of society feel good with their foray into culture. Then again, we kicked in hundreds of millions for the Bucks... so throw the Hipsters and upper crust a bone I guess.

Yes Bucks fans are the poor and disadvantaged.
At a party given by a billionaire, Kurt Vonnegut informs Joseph Heller that their host had made more money in a single day than Heller had earned from his novel Catch-22.

Heller responds, “Yes, but I have something he will never have — ENOUGH.”

Was downtown yesterday, this thing is going to look pretty cool. I wasn't sold on the initial design and there's a lot to be done but so far it looks great.

Didnt realize i said that. But I will say this, "the arts" are important, but it would be nice if they generated income at some point as opposed to always depending on gov't to prop them up. They need a new business plan, fast.

MillerCoors isn't the government. Hipsters don't like musicals. And half the new arena is being funded by the government.

Interesting, I would have thought Johnson Controls was one of the more likely candidates for naming rights.

Me too. I have a feeling they're asking a lot for naming rights and it could very well be a national, rather than local, name.

Not sure how I'd feel about a national name. I guess it doesn't matter but it'd be cool to get something local or at least regional.

I mean, BMO Harris isn't based in Wisconsin. They have branches here and all over the country, but they are based in Chicago. So, I wouldn't be surprised if they went national, and for me, if its outside of Wisconsin, I couldn't care less if its in Chicago or in some other part of the country.
