Yes, I completely agree with you.

We all hailed SVG's arrival - myself included. But, being better than totally incompetent (Dumars/Cheeks) is an improvement, but not much of one when you see how short sighted their planning is. I mean, it's year 3 and the wheels have already flown off. Not much of a "five year plan", in my opinion.

Dumars was competent, but the game surpassed his eye-test based comprehension.

SVG acts like he knows everything and never won anything. I was a fan of him, having him as Pistons' president and coach looked like a blessing. It wasn't and I realize I was overrating him so much.

We always try to put square pegs into round holes, let them get frustrated, then play their game somewhere else and blossom. Same old Pistons.

Stanley hasn't so much regressed as he just sucks. He couldn't shoot, finish around the rim or post up in college. Now he is going against NBA competition. The best defense on Stanley is to back off and let him do whatever it is he does. He doesn't have an NBA game or NBA athleticism. He was a terrible pick.

Well said. He had success as a head coach with Dwyane Wade and a peak Dwight Howard. I guess we were fooled. Well, Tom Gores was fooled out of $35 million.

Stanley seems tentative on offensive. Rarely does he make a strong, decisive offensive move. Normally, he gets passed the ball, makes a dribble or two and then stops and flips the ball to somebody else.

I really do think he would improve if you just took the chains off completely and let him play more loose. IDK I've watched so many pickup games and college games of his that I just think he's capable of so much more. Any game I've seen him in not in a Piston uniform he's the alpha male on the court and just cold blooded carrying his teams. Of course the NBA game is a different animal but he just looks like he's playing scared to make a mistake now instead of showing that confidence I loved about him on the court.

He is a alpha! Problem is we don't have a team he can be that. I mean I think we should, if he sucks then we at least know, but I think he could kill it. trade him to Sac, Nets, watch the numbers pile up.

Like he's playing scared. Do you think maybe SVg has gotten to him? Making him think to much? I mean kid was getting pulled missing a three or D assignment, well what about that RJ and Dre guy?

I'm a believer. I think we can be a top 4 team next year still. yeah sounds crazy, but not that crazy, lol.

I absolutely think SVG wrecked his confidence and swagger that he normally has. I get what SVG was trying to do but like you said with Dre and Reggie then getting a double standard. For a 20 year old kid on a young team his ego is going to pop up feeling he's being held to a different standard and set of rules then the rest of the team.

I also feel pretty confident the team will bounce back next year. They look like they have just given up now just like a lot of us have and are ready to pack it in and get this season over with. I really think just something like that new arena next year with bigger exciting crowds could be something these young guys will be more pumped up about on the court.

Right now everything just feels stale and they have to be feeling it as well. That's why I want to tank it out and get the best player available and just try again next year.

I agree on the small tank. I used to hate it, but in todays NBA seems that might be the best way to get a star. I thought we had one in Dre, I still think we might, but damn has this year killed my thoughts
