The cap and what we can do with our space will likely dictate what happens with Yabusele next year - at least to the same extent as his readiness and upside.

It looks like he can shoot, set a solid screen, rebound, and be reasonably solid with his reads (for a rookie). I think that gives him a 5-10mpg role right away should he be on the team. One of Jonas's strengths is playing credible defense on perimeter. I don't think Yabu is on JJs level in this regard. I see him being a better version of Sullinger - short but strong enough to cover most 5s and rebound - with more perimeter skills offensively. In time he'll hopefully become a decent perimeter defender on switches. He won't have the same array of offensive skills as Sullinger, at least right away, but what he does have is better suited for the modern game.

I certainly won't be mad if they bring him over or stash him for one more year. Both approaches have merit.

Question on the draft this year:

If Zizic, Yabs, and Nader were in the draft this year, where would they be picked? I think Zizic would be a lottery pick. Others second round.
Hear you tell it, man I'm fallin/Well somebody must have caught him/Cause every fourth quarter/I like to Mike Jordan 'em.

Game 2 for Yabusele:

1st quarter just ended: Yabs got a putback, hit a few free throws and a 3. Hasn't missed. 7 points in 6 minutes, plus 3 rebounds. He's very aggressive on the offensive boards and had one beauty there.

Yeah. He's the only one on the Red Claws, with Offensive Rebs, with 2.

Yabs drains another 3. Still hasn't missed. 14 pts. 4 rebs, 2 assists in 11 minutes. Aggressive on the offensive boards.

not much nba on tonight so watching this instead and yabusele is great. He's fun and good at stuff that you want guys to be good at.

6 years from now I'd play him at C and win at the nba

Yeah, Žižić would be lottery.
Yabusele, about the 20's.
Nader, Geez. He'd be way higher.

Sure thing. Yabs sitting now. It seems Nader isn't playing. Mickey's been productive too, but Yabs looks like he'll translate to the NBA better.

Yabs only got one more shot off in his last stint. Hit that 3. He did not miss in the first half. 17 pts, 5 rebs, 2 assists in 14 minutes. He had some wasted motion on defense but generally did a good job there too. He was the best player on the floor for either team in that half.

Yabs looks to have figured some things out defensively, although it's not like there are John Walls to contain on the Windy City Bulls so there's not as much pick and roll urgency.

Mickey...I hope he hasn't bought a house here...

Yabs walks like Andre the Giant did. Kid looks good tonight no doubt, it's almost like what aggressive KO looks like in those rare games we get to see him.

I feel Yabs will be a good replacement for KO and Jonas. Zizic will be a good replacement for Amir and Zeller.

Yabs first 3q stint: Didn't have an opportunity for a shot. Got a board on each end. He's sitting again.
