Willy for rookie of the month in March?

Post#1 » by Dantares » Sat Apr 1, 2017 4:28 pm

edit: copy and paste does not align properly so here is the their stat splits page, scroll down to monthly

Willy's line

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/5495/splits/

here is Saric's stats

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/5323/splits

You be the judge. Did he do enough to steal the award from Saric for this month? saric scored more points but he took more shots and Willy has a much better fg%. Also saric didn't take care of the ball very well averaging 3.1 TO's per game in the month of march. I'm leaning toward saric because of the assists, but the NBA really likes to share this award, meaning if two players both played at a high level the NBA will award it to the guy that hasn't won RoTM yet.

Nah Saric will get it. The raw scoring difference is too much, which plays a huge role in rookie awards. Billy is significantly better looking though, so there's that.

This maybe the worst rookie class I've seen.

2013 wasn't looking great until Giannis and Gobert looked like studs in later years.

2016 looks much worse right now. On top of the players you mentioned '13 brought us CJ McCollum, Denis Schroder, Steven Adams, kentavious caldwell-pope, Otto Porter, Victor olidipo, Shabazz Muhammad, Mason Plumlee and a couple of other decent role players.

I just realized that the Knicks passed on Bobby Portis and Larry Nance in 2015 for Grant. Wow.

I know he looked better than Grant in his rookie year. I haven't kept up with his game though.

Eh..lots of teams did. Believe it or not, some here wanted Russell over Towns and KP.

There were a few "Mudiay or bust" folks too. Predicting these things isn't easy. I trust the judgement of Clarence Gaines though.

Grant looks decent enough. Better than Mudiay actually lmaoo

Tbh I wish we still had him. He improved his 3, and a/t ratio has always been good. Can play in both back court spots

It's still funny that people complained that we drafted KP and for the most part they wanted to draft Mudiay or Winslow and both of them are trash
