+3 - Ulis
+2 - Bender
+1 - Booker

Gotta be honest, I don't really have any Cactus nominees. I didn't feel like anyone really did awful. Definitely there are some improvements to be made, but I liked how we performed tonight.

Don't be harsh on Booker. Yeah 8 turnovers but 4 of them was not his fault. 2 stupid offensive fouls which were not the right call and 2 bad passes from his teammates. Yes, he looked gassed but still he managed to show his post moves and playmaking.

+2 Ulis (career game, amazing performance. 34-9-9 with 15/22 FG)
+1 Bender (welcome back)
+1 Booker
+1 Chriss
+1 Len

In the grand scheme of things, we can give Booker a pass for bad games, but we can't make excuses for his bad games assessing them here all the time. I mean if Knight or even Bledsoe shot 7-22, with 8 turnovers (despite the 9 assists) and played horrid defense, they would be crucified.

I love Booker, and I love that even though he can be a great scorer, he also passes as much as he does. So it's a good thing he is passing even though many of them result in turnovers right now...I'm sure he will improve.

I'm surprised he is getting plus votes.

I respect your opinion of course, but it feels like he gets an easy pass often.

And there are those of us on the other side that are surprised that he gets picked apart so often, so it goes both ways. I've started to be a little more lax in my Booker ratings to offset the unfair ratings (from my perspective) that some are giving him. For example, he was given a minus 1 or 2 from multiple people yesterday, mostly because of his 7 turnovers. But even if you subtract 12 points from his total to balance his negatives, that would still leave him with 7 assists and 19 points. That's +3 territory for almost any other player.

Well it isn't only the enormous amount of turnovers, but the inefficient shooting and terrible defense. Taking 12 points off of that doesn't compensate. We all have our reasons, so that is fair, but tonight, for example, he shot 31.8% on high volume....with 8 turnovers. Anyone who shoots 31.8%, particularly with 22 shots, with 8 turnovers, should not be a plus on any team, even despite the porous defense. Booker is great, and he is young, so I don't mind it, but that doesn't mean he deserves plus efforts tonight in my mind.

It's great that we all have different unique perspectives, and that's what's great about a forum, but other players contributing sometimes also seem to get ignored, and of course that is often due to bias, but tonight, for example, on a per minute basis, Bender and Len were both great in what they are supposed to do...Len with 12 rebounds and 4 blocks (that's huge) in 28 minutes, and Bender with 7 rebounds and 2 blocks in 14, which is even better. 4 blocks is rare for any player. Few players get even 2 blocks in games and Bender got 2 in 14 minutes.

Regarding Booker, to me he doesn't deserve a plus or a negative in this game. He is our go to guy and he got a ton of attention but he is not effective enough to carry a team to a win NOW. And I am OK with that because he is just 20 years old.

He played an overall inefficient game, but he did not stop trying and he has a lot of tricks that got him to the free throw line a lot (12/12). He is very good on offense but he is strictly bad on defense. It is a must for him to improve defense this summer, because we are not going to win too many games with his defense being so bad. He needs to be at least average.

I know that he is really young, but IMO he plays the game sometimes just to put big numbers on offense and he doesn't care too much about all the little things. Even passing the ball he seems to just looking the assist, not to create an overall good play (like Dudley, for example).

All these things change with age and experience, so I am not too concerned about that... but hopefully is sooner than later and we can win more games next season and be a competitive team.

+3 Ulis. Amazing performance.
+1 Chriss. He is really getting in rivals mind with his shot bloking and he is changing a lot of shots at the rim.
+1 Len. This is what I want every single game from Alex Len.

-3 Williams. He played terrible basketball yesterday. He is toooo agressive so he commits too many fouls, and his touch around the rim disappeared. I want to sign this summer, but the salary needs to be relatively low.
-2 Price. He is not an NBA player anymore. Great effort but he just gets outplayed everytime.
-1 DJJ. Not a factor at all.

-3 Booker - I expect more from him at this point and his statistics from this game look strangely similar to Knight's :)

+1 Bender I wish they didn't seem to freeze him out in the 2nd half when he played. I'd like to see him get more touches and it was really fun in the first half seeing him go to work inside. He has a nice hook and looks to be a soft touch. I have high expectations.
