Tank For Frank

Post#1 » by DET_Athletics » Mon Apr 3, 2017 1:12 am

i am going on the record and think this kid is going to be special, especially on defense. adding him would take our defense very far and i think he would be a great fit for this team moving forward.

I like Frank but we're horrible at drafting and even worse at developing players. So even if we get a chance at drafting him one of two things will happen:
- we pass on him
- we draft him and he doesn't reach his potential so we end up calling him a bust.

Not very optimistic these days..

Frank Ntilikina, basically our only chance of getting our PGOTF in this draft.

Frank won't be available at 11/12/13.

Losing all the games remaining would be a nice shot to climb into the top10, but I'm afraid we are going to win at least 2 other games.

Not sure how you "tank" with 5 games left. The most we are going to move is up or down 1 slot.

play Mc Callum-Hilliard-Johnson-Ellenson-Boban til the end of the season and then see what has happened would be the best approach.

unfortunately I'm ready to watch iso-Morris drop 35 point per game in clueless matches.

It really doesn't even matter. We could lose all 5 and not change in the standings unless someone else below us goes on a hot streak. Unless NO or dallas wins out, we aren't dropping.

The teams above us are actually still trying to make the playoffs, so we are unlikely to catch them even if went 5-0.

1. Brooklyn 18 Wins (Boston)
2. Phoenix 22 Wins
3. LA Lakers 22 Wins
4. Orlando 27 Wins
5. Philly 28 Wins
6. New York 29 Wins
7. Sacramento 30 Wins
8. Minnesota 30 Wins
9. Dallas 32 Wins
10. New Orleans 33 Wins
11. Detroit 35 Wins
12. Charlotte 36 Wins
13. Denver 36 Wins
14. Indiana 37 Wins

Right now its looking like we're at best picking 10th or tied for 10th but even that would take New Orleans playing really well down the stretch beating teams battling for playoff (they've got Denver twice this week and then Golden State) and they finish the season on a four game road trip so I can't see them finishing the season hot.

Nah mate the league is gonna gift Philly the #1 pick again for dumping Hinkie, we get the #2 pick for moving downtown and Lakers get #3 so they don't give it to Philly

Now all we gotta do is find the next Darko in this Draft ;-)

My all-time favorite type of post!

I seem to remember the two most talented lotto teams in the East get 1 and 2 for the sure things of Rose and Beasley.

Oden and Durant went 1 and 2 to kickstart OKC and help Portland get some Seattle fans.

I loved Philly (pathetic) and LAL (most popular team in the league) getting it last year.

Detroit could lose money while building a new arena while being talented in the still weaker conference, so bring it on!
Aaaand, we're a relatively historic franchise, so.

Hrm, a Euro PG without much production on his Euro team, very scary. If they can't get Fultz or Smith, they should probably look at a backup C value pick at 11.

im a fan of his defensive potential on point guards, plus defensively i think he would look really good next to KCP.

that one spot might mean us getting the player we need tho, but i have a feel SVG is going to be SVG and try and win these games that dont matter and pray to get into the playoffs.
