Something i always look for in every draft for us...

we don't that shooter yet...

I know everyone is up in arms for these bigs in the draft but I'm still searching for that shooter first n foremost.

The issue is that you can find shooters who are so so defenders or defenders who are so so shooters. If you truly find a 3 & D guy, he's going to be highly sought after. Not that a rim protector wouldn't be any less coveted but having a rim protector makes every one else just a bit better on defense where you can at least look at a great shooter but with questions defensively.

If you get this shooter, you are still dependent on making stops. That's why I'm not in a hurry to move lopez. Who are we going to replace him with?

What easier baskets? I keep reading that we shoot too many threes, what are these easier baskets do you speak about? The team is getting wide open shots. Should we go back to the stagnant basketball of the last 2 seasons?

i just dont like us relying on the 3 point shot too much, we arent the warriors with great 3 point shooters. yes go back to easy baskets of posting up lopez and more two pointers.

Agree on shooting 3s too much. Unfortunately, Brook isn't a power center either. Haven't understand the MO, but like Nets plays fast pace. PnR + fast pace + some open 3s + hard D will make Nets looking better.

our defense is bigger problem than us relying on 3 pointer but that involves better players and perhaps a new defensive system.

Our offense is fine. Our defensive struggles are due to lack of a PnR defensive big and, lack of rebounding and lack of athleticism and size inside.

actually defense has been solid lately, offense is lack of punches, but overall is fine... the team is getting obviously better at this point

Its a foul all right. On Lin. He clears out with his left arm and elbows Harris in the face before there is any push below.

funny how hard you are rooting against a Net.. cool huh?

so how about this... not a three seconds violation by Baynes huh?

[Detectable with stop watch] Baynes (DET) is in the paint for longer than three seconds

elbows? Keep your blind statement there. Harris didn't even feel the hit lmao. And the rules said the defender should keep his body straight-up which he didn't (look at his left arm and left leg), and here it is:

We have noticed that defenders have been turning sideways when jumping to defend an oncoming offensive player on drives to the basket. This is illegal and referees are being instructed to call this a blocking foul. While we commonly discuss verticality in the context of secondary defenders inside the restricted area (see restricted area and verticality reminder further below), this change will apply to defenders turning sideways while in the air whether inside or outside the restricted area on drives.

And then he turned the ball over immediately before we were even able to get a shot off to seal the win for the Pistons.

Ish Smith is shooting 25.6% from beyond the arc and he is a career 28.8% 3-point shooter.

So you want a 99% 2-point field goal from Baynes instead of a ~30% 3-point field goal from Ish?

Either way, if they made it, we still had to make a bucket to win the game. The problem was, we hadn't.

Lin made the correct rotation, he just got knocked on his ass in the process because if he hadn't he could have rotated back to his man.

this whole "IT'S ____'S FAULT!!" after every god damn loss on here is nauseating to read.

Nets win and lose as a TEAM. PERIOD. Dudes cannot WAIT to jump down Lin's throat. It's one thing to say so and so played like ass, but to start pinning an entire loss on one dude is ridiculous.

Brook admitted that he should rotate better.

Regardless if Harris "Felt it", Lin clears out with his elbow and then continues to use his left arm to makes space. That's an offensive foul.

The bigger issue is the attempt to cry foul because someone is playing poorly. I can find something like this on every play. This is clearly a play on and you are crying about minor contact on Harris when Lin makes the contact first and it's more agregious.

Replace lopez with a rim protecter... someone athletic who can switch on to multiple positions defensively. And a bonus you pay him rookie scale instead of 20+ million and can invest that money in a scoring 2-way wing.

I agree with calamity... we need some shooters. our system revolves around threes. we cant just have Harris as the only assasin from deep.

There is clearly no elbow throwing in this picture. IF this can be called an elbow foul, wow, let's not play basketball anymore. You are ridiculous here. Your agenda is clear and it seems no further rational talks could be expected between us.

I think Lin should have passed it to RHJ, I think there's a no-call because of Harris and Lin's positioning but Lin's elbow isn't used in a way that a foul would normally be called. I initially thought Lin was fouled, but, to me, here, Lin should have used a different move and go to make the shot, not go for a foul call, or pass it to RHJ which is probably the better option. Lin is great at drawing defenses and he's best when he finds a wide-open team mate at point-blank rather than trying to make huge contested layups. Or, Lin could simply draw Harris out some more and pass to RHJ. I think Lin at times could get a little better in his court vision. It's good, very good, but it can be better in tight situations vs. the open outlet pass which he's good at.

I'd like to add someone to Lopez, I still like what he brings offensively. Shooters, yes. Glad to see you here, Prok.

I still think your ceiling is just too capped with lopez starting... id love ot have him as a 32 year old for like 12-14 million giving me 15-20 points in 20-25 bench minutes and not having to rely on him for any defense...

as a 29 year old on a max deal and starting, i think your ceiling is 45-49 wins and first round exit.

I'd love to draft a defensive big who can start in year 1 or year 2, pay him next to nothing, and then invest 50 million into my 2 wing spots. or 1 wing and 1 PF. Move RHJ and/or levert to the bench and draft a PG to groom as lins long term replacement.

Lin and a Drafted PG of the future
Levert
SF - MAX
PF - MAX
C - Rookie defensive rim protector

and look for those max guys over the next 3 seasons, doesnt have to happen this year. likewise with the picks, keep drafting talented shooters and 2 way guys until you find the PG/C of the future.

Donovan Mitchell and Justin Patton would be my choice right now among available players (assuming hartenstein is gone).
