Great defense in the first 2 periods frustrating Nashville.

This is getting interesting. Hopefully we can catch Ottawa with the way things are going tonight and open up some lead between us and the ones just outside of the Wildcard. I'd prefer it if the Leafs try to open up as much gap as possible between them and NYI + TB, not to mention the Canes just in case the Leafs tighten up in the last 3-4 games down the stretch of the season.

Matthews! What a **** stud. I mean, Marner is my favorite Leaf right now, but Matthews just gets it done every night on both ends. I hope he goes down as an all-time great for the Leafs.

You can count on 1 hand the # of times we had a lead going into the 3rd then lost it & actually ended up winning the game.

Matthews is doing all this with a 4th liner stapled to his wing. Marner actually looks spent at this point.

One of the Toronto or Ottawa might fall out of the playoffs. Toronto has health on their side over Ottawa, but I can see them choking at the finish line with the tough last week schedule. I can really see TB getting in. Boston looks like they're not going away. Thursday's game against the Lightning will probably decide the Leafs' fate.

Generally agree.

Fortunately, TB and Boston are playing each other tomorrow. I don't care who wins (positives and negatives for either side winning), as long as it is a regulation win. Toronto MUST beat Buffalo tonight though. It's not even funny how crucial it is to win tonight.

3-0 against Buffalo in the 1st. All 3 within a minute. Matthews with his 39th.

Great Leafs win tonight, which I didn't see a single second of. Oh well.

Matthews strength on the puck is ridiculous. I love watching him away from the puck and back checking, muscling guys off the puck and initiating offense.

That was big. TB has to win out and us lose out for us to blow this. Of course, we always expect the worst as Toronto fans but just 2 points in the next few games should still do it.

Eichel should be facing a suspension for that cross check on Marner. It was worse than the one Polack was suspended 2 games for.

Tough loss, back to back against the best team in the league (or at least one of the top 2-3 teams).

I don't want to be stuck facing Washington in the first round, worse matchup for us. Still have a game in hand on Boston, need to finish off Tampa Thursday and clinch and stay ahead of them and possibly Ottawa.

If we lose to Tampa Bay, I'm going to cry. We need to win tonight. Tonight's game is the most crucialest game of the season!

Getting a taste of playoff intensity hockey here. TB is completely bottling up Matthews. There's still wiggle room if we lose, but it would be lame to get in because Tampa lost a game, rather than us beating them.

I'm crying right now. I have to admit, tonight's loss really hurt. It seems like it's going to be decided on game #82 for both the Leafs and the Lightning. *sigh*

As much as I want to see them make the playoffs, missing them wouldn't be that painful. The random overtime system and our lack of success in the shootout would keep us out, and that has very little to do with what actually wins games in the playoffs. This season is already a huge success.

No, I hear you, but it would be awesome to give our young guys a taste of the playoffs (i.e., the grit and stifling defence). Even if it means we get swept by Washington and blown out each game.

Also, I wanna see the Leafs and Raps playing every night for a few weeks and fans of both going crazy.
