Right, it's my problem when I raise an eyebrow when a poster uses Lin and LeBron in the same sentence.
Again, I'd even just like an answer to my first question if you could on what point you were trying to make in the first place.
What's wrong with saying Lin is a poor-man's Lebron? Both have a major impact on winning, much more than their numbers show. Sure Lebrons the best player in the league, but nothing wrong with being a top 5 PG
Because I don't see it. I'm sorry, but I simply don't. I really like Lin and I'm glad he's here, but not only do I not see him as a Top 5 PG, but I see it as asinine to put him in that category, especially this season.
Westbrook - 32 points, 10.5 rebounds, 10.5 assists, 30 PER 56 TS% -- 15.91 win shares/6.37 RPM
Curry - 25 points, 6.5 assists, 4.5 rebounds, 25 PER 62 TS% -- 15.27 win shares/6.24 RPM
Wall - 23 points, 11 assists, 4 rebounds, 24 PER 54 TS% -- 10.64 win shares/5.52 RPM
Lowry - 23 points 7 assists, 5 rebounds, 23 PER 62 TS% - 11.54 win shares/5.88 RPM
Paul - 18 points 10 assists, 5 rebounds, 26 PER 61 TS% -- 11.79 win shares/7.88 RPM
Lillard - 26 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, 24 PER 59 TS% -- 10.23 win shares/3.39 RPM
Lin -14 points, 5 assisnts, 3 rebounds,18 PER 55 TS% -- 1.33 Win shares/ -0.30 RPM
I have to agree rich. I dont see the case for Lin to be a top 5 point gaurd... and with the evidence we have it is tough to even make a case for it. Production wise lin isnt close to the top 5-6 point gaurds. efficiency wise lin isnt close to the top 5-6 point gaurds. analaytical impact wise he isnt close to the top 5-6 point gaurds.
This is why i said early I find it really hard to see why anyone would make the argument that paul, or the long list of other top NBA point gaurds couldnt also lead this team to a 9-12 stint we've had the past 20 games. Lin is at a slight negative RPM... while those other guys are enormous positives. Wins shares those guys are in the 10-15 range. and from a production stand point some of those guys are at hall of fame levels.
Maybe I'm being a hater or there is some bias. but i just dont see the case to be made for Lin here.
