I still think we need him on the second team for offense but his minutes should be capped to 15mpg in the playoffs at the most. The misses are going to happen and we know he's not good on D but he tries. But the turnovers are inexcusable. It's like he's trying to be Wall with no explosiveness and defenders know he's going left. His passes are putrid. It's a weird mix though with that 2nd unit.
He's bad on offense and defense. There are too many players in the league who shoot an equal or better percentage from 3 yet do not TURN the ball over/play ADEQUATE defense. Better versions of Bojan are literally everywhere, and can be found for the cheap.
The fact that fans/coaching staff/Ernie continue to believe/want to believe that Bojan is a rotation player despite all signs pointing otherwise, shows the sunk cost fallacy at its finest.

Not talking about next season. Talking about needing him to help us now. We need points from the 2nd unit. Sunk cost or not. We were 29th in the league in bench points, which is why we traded for him. Is he a good player? No. Can he get us 10-12 points in the playoffs at worst? Yes. With Oubre and Mahinmi on defense, he'll have some protection. Morris or Porter at the 4 with Oubre at the 2 means you don't need to just go to him every time down the floor. Jennings worries me more.

Cleveland fans probably thought the same thing (or 2nd round exit) until last night. There's zero intensity in this game and no heart. If they play like this in the playoffs, they all should be cut but we know they will turn it back on.
1st round exit...
Nah we aren't mighty Celtics. 2 round exit at worst

Let's appreciate that tonight KO made possibly the first right-handed drive of his career

Really though, Oubre is developing very nicely. Scott Brooks coaching and development is gonna be a huge asset to this franchise.

Still finished with the left. I thought he was going to try a right-handed running hook shot

Guys ... the end of the season isn't an indicator of how team will perform in playoffs. They know they don't have to try too hard because they are already there - they won't have a better position because there's basically no difference between 3rd and 4th spot. Literally no difference. Hence, they 'poor' play. In all honesty, we shouldn't draw any conclusions based on Knicks game after such a murderous schedule last couple of weeks.

Re: Official Thread -- Wizards at Knicks (4/6/17)
I beg to differ.
There's a world of difference between a healthy Hawks team or playing against a bunch of guys that got hot on a weak schedule like the Bucks. There's also a world of a difference playing against Boston or Cleveland assuming Washington survives its first round matchup.
All of the games the Wizards have played since the break mattered, and you can't ignore the trend (defense) just because it's late in the season.
The Wizards are flirting with disaster right now.

Bojan's future with the Wizards and the NBA will be determined by how well he plays in the playoffs. If he still is doing goofy turnovers and missing open threes, we probably won't be too crazed to resign him. We do need his bench scoring right now.

Our starting line-up especially is going through extended periods of dont-give-a-S type play. Maybe we can just turn it on in the playoffs, but I agree, our attention span and concentration level is pretty suspect right now. Our defense has dropped off accordingly.

It matters, but personally I think our recent road heavy schedule has been abnormally demanding and they'll correct things once they enter the postseason format.
Would definitely rather play the Bucks than Hawks though. Atlanta is a well-coached team that's more likely to make us pay for our mistakes. They wouldn't have enough firepower to outscore us but they could muck up the series for an extra game or two longer than it needs to be.

Impossible to say what the seeding will be. Atlanta has to play the Cavs twice in their last 3. The hawks aren't really motivated to improve their position over the Bucks...the Wiz or Raps are similar matchups and there's no getting homecourt regardless.

President Donald Trump referred to African countries, Haiti and El Salvador as "shithole" nations during a meeting Thursday and asked why the U.S. can't have more immigrants from Norway.

Zach Lowe wrote quickly about the defense :

Basically 3pt defense is the biggest issue and Bogie and Jennings didn't help on that end either. Plus some coasting.

THIS iS TOTALLY INTUITION (and not rationally based on performance numbers):
Bogdanovich is a baller who's going to get to the line in the playoffs. He will be a solid contributor to a strong playoff run.
I DO SEE WHY PEOPLE WANT HIM GONE. More minutes for Oubre and others... Maybe I'm TOTALLY wrong.

Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

I love the positive thinking. I hate that the Wizards players themselves have consistently talked about the ECF as their goal.
Perhaps they know the league really wants LeBron in the finals and figure they won't be able to beat the Cavs AND the refs.
