Admittedly I haven't watched a ton of Pistons games this year..but did he really fall off that much this season? Nothing but negativity about his production this year which is weird considering he broke out last season, whats the deal?

He got paid and doesn't care about the game.

He sign a 5 year guaranteed contract for $130m and unsurprisingly... he lost his hunger and sense of urgency :banghead:

Needs to be traded.

NBA needs to bring back no -guaranteed contracts because these type of young guys who check out after they cash in are really hurting the game.

$130m player that can't hit free throws is an utter disgrace.

Wouldn't that be great. Basically Stan treated the Josh Smith situation like it was a non guaranteed contract lol.

Andre is awful and hated by the fans of detroit. He is costing the franchise money in multiple ways. Never should have given him a max contract. Lazy bum.

This would be terrific. No way the players union would ever agree to this, though. Half the guys in the committee would probably get cut that afternoon.

Here's my thing:

Gores & SVG are willing to spend $130 million on Andre Drummond's contract.

Why not spend another $10 mil on a sports psychologist?

We know Dre doesn't wanna be the best big man that ever played - that's not the end of the world!

They need to get inside his head and flick the switch though otherwise it's a huge waste of cash and talent

IF Gores likes the kid at all he'd be willing to do anything to help him realise his potential

I think it's lunacy that he even needs some mental motivation to begin with.

Like bruh, you're getting paid 100+ millions to play basketball not coal mining or fast food...just basketball. Kids out here would kill for that kind of opportunity.

I still maintain that Andre Drummond = Reggie Evans.

I hear you loud & clear but it hasn't worked so far.

The alternative to doing everything possible to get Drummond "right" is to trade him - and what you get in return isn't gonna be as much as you think!

Very few teams are gonna want Drummond AND give up a great collection of assets...and I still don't believe we'll trade him for anything less than a staggering package.

Yeah, is there even a STARK differences between what a prime Reggie Evans can produce vs Dre now?

My bet is no. The Reggie Evans comparisons may be more truer than some may think. At least Evans looks like he gave a ****.

Btw, is it possible that the trade talk hurt his performance? Correct me if I'm wrong, but the team and Drummond were decent somewhere until the end of the February or early March, and since then just dropped of the ledge, and iirc Drummond, RJ and few others were dangled to other teams?

I dont think Drummonds play is as bad as Smith was back then. But look out once Drummond loses his athleticism he will go down fast. Both of these guys are mental midgets, but i would not trade Drummond while his trade value is at an all time low right now. Make him strictly a garbage man, take away his post-ups and bench his ass for Boban when he plays bad. He need to learn some lessons the hard way.

His numbers actually aren't that far off from last year. JSmoove comparisons may be a bit of an overreaction, but it's more so his effort and consistency that's most frustrating. Combine that with horrid free throw shooting and it can be tough to watch

No doubt. He can be a bit of a whiney baby
