How would you improve this team...

Post#1 » by locomagicfan » Sun Apr 9, 2017 12:21 am

You are the owner of this team...
With only ONE move how would you improve this team for next season?

The rules:
- You can hire or fire anyone
- You can trade anyone
- You can NOT trade for anyone
- You can draft anyone

What's your move?

I would trade our first round pick even if we got #1. I just don't see devos waiting around for a rookie to become a star. If you can trade our pick for an established star i think we will do it.

Trade for Jimmy Buttler or Paul George.
Draft BPA.
Sign talent to fill-in the roles of players traded.

considering neither center we have is capable of being dominant, that is a hard task

i would draft Isaac and change the starting 5

Gordon
Isaac
biyombo
hezonja
payton

give these youngsters 30+mins and just let them grow together for years to come...get players that complement them and do a true rebuild instead of half assin it

Its pretty shabby. I love all those guys but none can create their own shot. Mario is playing better at PF as a result. You move him back to SG and it's a giant fail with Gordon and Isaac out there. Just a huge lack of consistent shooting. On paper, very fun to think about. In reality, it would be pretty bad. If we want that kind of lineup we need a guy like Teague (FA) at PG and Ross at SG with Mario playing the 6th man role.

I'm a believer of the group we got. I like our 2 centers, ag at the 4, Mario at the 3, ross and Fournier at the 2 with occasional minutes at the 3, and ep at the 1. So I see holes at backup 1, backup 4, and another 3. We've got for sure 3 of the first 36ish draft picks this year. Possibly 4 depending on what happens with the Lakers in the lottery. The only thing the magic need to do is watch henny do his thing on draft day and fill the holes in this team. The biggest obstruction in Orlando's roster construction is dj augustins contract. Trading him would be my choice to give us as much financial freedom as possible. Everything else will take care of itself.

Draft Tatum at our likely range to compliment AG and create offense / utilize his playmaking ability.

EP
Ross
Tatum
AG
Biz
Sixth man - Mario

If I'm not following the rules - Trade Fournier and Vuc for a reasonable return.

I would make sure i drafted either fultz, jackson or tatum, and would be willing to trade any of our picks or players besides AG to make sure that happened. We have plenty of good role players, we need a star, and in this league, stars win you games, so if you dont have, do everything you can to get one

What? What do you mean you can NOT trade for anyone? How is that possible if you're allowing to trade anyone?

You can't improve this team with one move. We haven't won many games with anyone on this roster so just moving one guy doesn't make us better. There isn't a cancer on this team. Just a mix of 2nd and 3rd tier players.

I don't know pick BPA in the draft?

The primary move should be to fill that SF spot. If we can't draft Tatum or Isaac then trade For one. Then send Fournier to the bench. He needs to be playing vs bench units. Dude cannot guard anyone and Ross should be at the SG. Start with that.

Team has shown is can score but we need some serious upgrade in that perimeter D.

Meaning don't say Jeff Green for Lebron James.
