I want to the Lakers to fall out too but I don't think that should be our main concern. Why would you be ok falling out of the top 5? We need an elite prospect on this team. If I had a choice of getting a top 3 pick with the Lakers picking in the top 3 with us Id take that over falling out of the top 5 and the Lakers losing their pick.
If PG is priority Fox should be the target outside of the top 2. Problem is what to do with Payton at that point? Payton is putting up some solid pointless numbers as of late and that complicates things. Im all for taking the BPA but Payton and Fox are so similar. Im actually torn on this subject cause Im a big fan of Fox.
Because I think we could get a nice PG at 6. Smith Jr or Fox
I'd like Payton to be our backup PG, but if his ego can't handle that then trade him. Payton has improved, but he's not one of those must-keep guys
Lmao it's funny u guys are acting like these guys are 100% going to be better than EP ! There is going to be a lot of disappointed fans when they realize most of these players are going to struggle like every other year! Perfect example is Minnesota this year when they drafted kris dunn(who was thought to be NBA ready) and everyone assumed rubio was gone and now Rubio is killing it and Dunn can't get any minutes on a losing team !
FACTSSSSSSSSS.
If we can draft Ball/Fultz then yes I agree we should look to trade Payton, but anyone outside of those two I much rather go with a wing such as Tatum/Jackson and invest in Elfrid. Elfrid is light years ahead of players like Smith/Fox and genuinely in my opinion not worth drafting when our glaring need is at the wing.
I'm also on board with packaging Fournier and a top pick for Butler. Then throw a 4 yr/60-70m contract at Gallanari and call it a successful off season.
Payton/WHY CANT WE EVER GET THIS RIGHT
Ross/Ferguson
Butler/Gordon
Gallanari/Hezonja
Vuc/Biyombo
Trade up with our both seconds and LAC pick and cash to teams like Chicago/Indiana/Atlanta picking in the 16-18 area and draft Terrence Ferguson a strong defender and one of if not the best shooter in the '17 draft.
Would be a happy camper if that happened, but as history shows no major trade will go down and we will draft Lauri Markkanen with the #4 pick and sign Andre Igudola to an absurd contract for his "championship experience and veteran leadership" and hate him the second he gets on the floor.
