I wish they would just give Dwight the ball when he seals people early. It's awful that he was to reset at least 4 times before getting the ball.

Nice comeback by the bench.

Congrats to Millsap & the bench. Bazemore was nearly fumbling a totally open path layup but he recovered at last second. Everybody will talk how Lebron "lost the game" while chasing for triple double but it was the bench and their defense that brought the game back to Atlanta.

I'M SHOOK! That was the greatest experience of my life at a sporting event!

I feel like Bud likes to flaunt every once in awhile that he knows what he's doing and is very good at it.

Simply aghast at this team, drop 2 games to the Nets in the span of a week and then roll the top of the East in 3 straight games. 18-18 against teams teams .500 and above, 5-0 in OT.

Wow...

what a wacky sequence of events. I saw the Hawks down five with 10 seconds Sunday and assumed a loss was forthcoming.

Two hours later I find out we won in OT for the 3rd victory in 4 days?!?

It's an accomplishment the team should be proud of. But I hope it doesn't override the last three months of mediocre basketball.

We played great this weekend.

But we're still 33-36 since that amazing start to the season. With multiple 7-game losing streaks.

Kudos to the guys for some great basketball, though.

Something called 'The Undefeated' has a great write-up on the end of regulation shenanigans:

I wonder if Korver and the Hawks players hung out after the game? or if they talked to said anything?

Cavs have a game tonight, so they probably flew to Miami last night.

This is complete and utter fallacy. And a perfect example of allowing recent events to completely rewrite history.

We were a .500 team for the majority the season. We went 1-10 after that 9-2 start. We have been a bottom five offense for most of the year.

We have a 70 game sample of games of mediocre play.

Don't let three great games convince you to ignore four wretched months.

D21 is correct in his assertion that the multiple 7 game losing streaks you referenced were 'mainly without Millsap' We had TWO 7-game losing streaks. the first in late Nov/Mid Dec: Millsap played in 4 of the 7 games, the next one was in March where Millsap played in 2 of the 7. I'm not sure how that is re-writing history - those are the facts regardless of offensive struggles and the 70 game sample size and four wretched months.

:noway:

You're trying to put lipstick on a pig.

Spoiler:
Millsap's record since the 9-2 start -- By month:

November Hawks went 1-6 with Millsap.

December Hawks went 7-5 with Millsap.

January Hawks went 11-4 with Millsap.

February Hawks went 5-7 with Millsap.

March Hawks went 4-5 with Millsap.

April Hawks went 2-1 with Millsap.

Since the end of that 9-2 start, Millsap has played in 58 games. Hawks are only 30-28 in those games. We looked dominant at the start of the season. But everything since has shuffled between mediocre and underwhelming.

NOTE: A 30-28 record equals out to a win percentage of about 52%. Over the course of a season, a 52% win percentage leaves us with about 43 wins.

We're currently on pace to have 43 wins for the season.

Is the 7 game losing streak information wrong or not? You made that a point of reference in your post - he pointed it out accurately.

I'm not arguing semantics with you, Jayu.

NOTE: D21 is a grown man. He and I go back on this board nearly a decade. He doesn't need you to jump in and defend him.

He's perfectly capable of standing up for himself.

you think I'm arguing with you? Lol. I don't care how long you and whoever go way back, I'll comment on any post I want to Mr Board Police. There is no need for me to defend him (which I'm not just pointing out the accuracy of his statement) as I'm sure he doesn't need you telling me that either. He is as you say a grown man.

Hey guys ;-)
I didn't see your answer sooner, you're both right, it's just different POVs from the initial post.

I was not talking about ATL as a super team with Millsap and super-loosers without him, but that it would have been a harder problem if the loosing streak were all played with Millsap.
We need him to win, and even if there are a lot of Ls with him, it was certainly a bit better than without him.

Now, other players are not impacting like they should do, and they are more responsible for the Ls than Millsap.
There were too much games where ATL was better without Howard and Bazemore, maybe Schröder too, than without any other guy.
These three guys are in negative On/Off court on the season, Millsap is at +9 (and THJ at the same level)

We are clearly better with Millsap, but I agree that playing all games with him wouldn't have changed to the point of playing for the 1st spot.
