Oh it' exists....it's an underlying racism that people in Canada don't like to talk about. People will deny it and say it's more of a sports rivalry, but I've lived in Toronto for 36 years. There's more to it. Sad but true.

theres only friction from idiots. the vast majority are sports fans and enjoy the local team doing well. just a bunch of sad people that would hate on the others success, for most of us this is an awesome time to have all 4 local teams doing well

Yeah its the cultural and racial divide of this city.

A lot of the urban/immigrant couldn't afford to play hockey and were more driven towards hoops. Hockey has historically been priced high and geared towards the Caucasian demographic.

I certainly think there will be some animosity or fights in the square if one game undercuts the other game in terms of viewing times.

I would go restless watching hockey outside without flipping the channel. It's so Damn boring for the first 58 mins. Last 2 mins fun though.

MLSE, with their unlimited funds, should realize that there IS in fact a division between the fanbases and create a TV commercial, print ad, or come together on Twitter to unify the fans. Hell, have Lowry and Matthews in a commercial wearing each other's hats.....they need to really force feed this like Sportsnet force fed the Jays for the last 5 years to get people to care again.

Honestly it's so stupid. For years the Raps fanbase was treated second class by many Leafs fans and they talked down about the Raps and the basketball fans in this city. But Raps fans are just as bad at times in their response.

I don't get why people just can't support all teams from Toronto.

fwiw on the schedule - to further what others have said for the past three years an opening weekend schedule has leaked with no 12:30 Saturday game. The Raptors are playing 12:30 on Saturday.

Raps schedule probably shakes out with a Noon kick off on Saturday, game 2 on Tuesday, game 3 on Thursday and game 4 on the following Saturday. No conflicts and head to head, nothing to worry about with scheduling in Milwaukee since they don't have another team playing in there arena as far as I know. Same would apply to Atlanta, Indiana and Miami however the bottom seeds shake out.
