The last two games, Phoenix won games before the Lakers played that same night, at the bare minimum we should be tied in the wins column

Chris Paul, never had exceptional athletic ability. If you have a

1. Cross over
2. Hesitaion moves
3. Cross over with your right and left hand
4. Use all of the above for the step back jumper

Thats a 20 point scorer. Also Russell at 6'5 doesnt have to play quick all the time because he has size. Isiah Thomas has to be quick 24/7 because he's only 5'9

Russell has post up potential and can simply shoot over you

What about defense?

There is no such thing as a great defensive PG in 2017. When you watch head to head matchups. You rarely see poind guards shutting each other down. D'Angelo easily dropped 40 on Kyrie Irving and Kyrie dropped 46. Russell, also dropped 28 on Mike Conley with ease. Where was their defense?

Also its hard to defend quick guards when they get a high screen. Thepower forward is supposed to trap the high screen and allow the PG to reset his defense.

Fans on the main board don't even have the Lakers channel and they got opinions. This is like a Dave Chappelle skit. They dont know kid is averaging 20 a game since All Star and they call him a role player. Get the Lakers channel before judging

He's a 20 point scorer last 20 games at 21 years old and his body is not even fully developed

From DLo being better than Porzingis to Lakers making the playoffs next year with this roster......this thread delivers

Playoffs? Don't talk about playoffs, are you kidding me?

Russell, is averaging 20 points a game since All Star break. Please explain what makes Porzingis much better? The Knicks
are in the weak east and failed to make playoffs.

All because of an skills contest at All Star game? I'm sure Russell would do as well because he would make that first initial pass
and knock down the three at the end. You make it sound like there is this huge difference

Also overall for the season, the only reason why guy's like Devon Booker and Porzingis averaged more points is because they played 35 plus minutes, while Russell averaged 16 points in 27 minutes. Since All Star break his minutes have gone up and so has his points

Russell is a 20-25 point potential scorer in 35 minutes

I think Porzingis is a nice player but I'd prefer to have a savvy guard like D-Lo to compliment this modern offense. Not to say Porzingis wouldn't be great in Luke's system, he's a fine player that spreads the floor, but D-Lo's shooting ability and craftiness is going to bring back Laker glory.

you guys kidding? he's the literal modern day PF, porzingis is the type of player that completely opens up the middle of the floor, especially if you can get away with playing him as a center.

he's the big man unicorn, it might be a bit of hyperbole but his ceiling is prime sabonis (CCCP version)

don't tell me luke couldn't use a guy like that in his offense

Also Ball is not the answer. Josh Jackson will be the much better player.

C Zubac
PF Randle
SF Jackson
SG Ingram
PG Russell

Ingram/Jackson have great length and could be a grat defensive combination. Why are people so sold on Lonzo Ball and his annoying daddy?

No clue. Give me Josh Jackson all day. We'll put him at SG. Clarkson comes off the bench.

I don't know where to start, Russell better than Porzingis?!! What are you people smoking? One is among a plethora of players of his type who isn't very good either offensively or defensively at this stage of his career, the other is a super-rare franchise-cornerstone who is already very good in a lot of areas. There's only a couple of Porzingis types in the entire world - there are DLo types on almost every NBA roster. I guess there are deluded fans then there are Lakers fans. Congrats to Russell, averaging whatever over whatever period in what amounts to the garbage time portion of the season. Anyone who would take Russell over Porzingis is either an idiot or knows nothing about basketball, or likely both.
