I'm passed pissed. I've come to terms with it

5 stages of being a nuggets fan.

I thought there were only two stages

1. Hope
2. Despair

Between the front office and the coach our player development is really stifled and it's hard to see that changing.

Last year we won 33, sitting at 38 now. Things have gotten better but another "hold our assets" off-season isn't what we need.

I agree, this team has some young talent but they have to pick a direction and get things done this summer. Another summer of a minor move or two and adding 1 rookie is not going to cut it for me.

Agreed.
This summer is going to be interesting. Does the FO resign Gallo and/or plumlee.
I totally understand if they don't but then what do we do? We will be sitting on way too much cap space with no one to give it to (until extensions start kicking in). We could have the lowest payroll in the league which isn't a good thing.

Would love to trade/consolidate Barton,Jameer, chandler but who wants them?

Some still believe the Nuggets can make the playoffs.
The Nuggets would have to win-out and the Blazers would have to lose-out.
That's 5 games that MUST all favor Denver.
I wonder how many that still believe are calling Las Vegas now?

I doubt Portland will drop both of their remaining games. I'd still like to see us win out though, even without the playoffs. A .500 season is a good stepping-stone for this young team.

I really don't see us winning either let alone both OKC games, just hope we get a better schedule next year.

Well, room for improvement for next year. Seems we had 16...no, make that 17 games it could've swung either way got to learn to close those out.

Man.. really blew it this year.

Even still the Nuggets made some great strides.

Just unfortunate they couldn't get a 1st for Gallo or Chandler AND they gave up Nurkic + a 1st.... that was quite an opportunity cost & loss of assets.

Hopefully they dont make any panic moves building around Murray & jokic. The top of the West ain't going anywhere anytime soon. Take your time

That Westbrook game winner really was a dagger into the Nugs' hearts. Won the game for OKC and booted us out of contention at the same time.

It was quite a ride. I thought we'd make the playoffs mainly because of the emergence of Jokic, but that may have to wait for at least another year...

Hmmm, I'm thinking the Nuggets were realistically out of contention when they lost to Portland - that gave Portland the tie-breaker, meaning we had to win one more game than them and our schedule was not very hopeful regarding that

Sounds like Gallo is done for the year, which is the right move.

Zero reason for Murray/Mudiay/Beasley/Juancho to not all get huge minutes in both games. I'd like to see Jokic get his usual allotment of minutes to let these guys play off him some. Gary Harris is whatever - I don't need to see him in these last two games other than I guess it would be cool to see all the young guys together. We know what Gary Harris is going forward.

Would really like to showcase some of these young guys, especially Beasley. Need to remind everybody that just because he hasn't played this year, it doesn't mean the potential isn't there. I can easily see him being part of a trade in the next year or so.

Per Dempsey, no Nelson (duh) the rest of the way. Likely no Faried or Barton as well.

As for Gallinari, I'm just glad to see him having finished the year this far. It makes sense to shut him down now.

Truthfully I'm surprised Malone would shut anyone down. He's played every game to win, even when it was lost. Maybe there's hope for him (but don't count me as a believer yet  ).

Yes boss, you're right. LOL Hmmm, you mean the 2018 23rd seed, right?
I'll unsticky this. If anyone wants to make one smart-alec remark, this thread will probably drop soon, so make it quick - but don't get nasty, well, not too nasty.

Thanks all. It was a thread I enjoyed.

So you really think Jameer Nelson will be on the team in 2018 ?? Ok that's as snarky as I can get
