GT #82: Wizards @ HEAT 8 PM (CSN/1500 AM)

Post#1 » by FAH1223 » Wed Apr 12, 2017 5:42 am

LAST game of the regular season. Last chance to simulate a playoff atmosphere. Last game for the HEAT to punch their ticket into the playoffs. They have owned the Wiz all year. I see it continuing...

Listening to Beal's postgame interview against Detroit, you get the feeling 50 wins really matter to them. Even though I'ld like to see the heat in the Playoffs, I hope they win to start the Playoffs with confidence. :D

Any word yet on Mahinmi? Never a good sign when the Wizards turn mum on a players status.

I wanna see them crush Miami and destroy their playoff dreams. Theyve had our number all year really, would be great to win and send them home and using that small victory as a confidence boost for the team.

I doubt we can do it without any of our big 3 and no Mahinmi.

Plus, Miami is bound to give whoever they face in the first round a real run for their money. I think they could push the Celts or Cavs to 7 games.

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

So who isn't playing except Ian, Wall and Otto?

I think we can win 50 because our guys are really motivated, Miami is due for a stinker, and the Bulls/Pacers maybe up 20 so Miami may quit at some point.

On a side note, this was in the Wall appreciation thread but I don't think alot of you seen it. It's a good read from Brandon Jennings about Wall and the last line got me so hyped because I feel the same way.

I don't understand Gortat playing. He's the oldest guy and has played every game. Maybe he wants to say that he played 82? Or maybe they feel like this is an opportunity without Wall and Beal to overly force feed Gortat to get his rhythm fully back. Also it's a great and perfect prep for him to go h2h against Whiteside for his upcoming match up with Howard

I believe Gortat will become one of 5 players to start all 82 games this season (if he plays tonight) he probably takes a lot of pride in his durability

Well, this is just awful. Rather salt in the wound to have it be in the last 5 minutes of a more or less meaningless game too. :nonono:

I said before last game that I would bench the starting 5 for rest and bench Mahimi for importance. Now he's hurt. Howard feast on Gortat most times and if he gets in foul trouble, we have to put Smith against him? Hopefully we can just make it back on offense with floor spacing. Smiths J better be money

The news on Mahinmi out 7-10 days is reason why Wall Beal and Morris aren't playing tonight. Tough news for team Ian was playing great.

Gortat seems to do ok against Howard.
I believe we can still beat the Hawks.

I'm still hoping we dance our way to the second round in Boston.

Gortat better start rotating and protecting the ****ing rim is all I can say. I'm not going to be able to stomach him getting in rebounding position on open layups during the playoffs.

Spoiler:
THERE'S NOT GOING TO BE A REBOUND. :banghead:

And it matters to:
50 - Halcyon
49 - bsilver

One of them takes home the nice package that Mr. Leonsis put together for one of them.

Really could have used Mahinmi in the first round going up against Dwight Howard but if Jason Smith is able to keep up his outside shooting he might give us a bit of an edge spreading the floor at the center position for a good 10 to 15 minutes.

We'll probably sink or swim with Gortat's play, shame, but that's the curse of the boulez for ya.

On the other hand, this sets the stage for Mahinmi to suit up, walk onto the court, and play a few symbolic minutes, buoying the faltering courage of his brothers-in-ball as they face off against Traitor Durant, Mild Curry, Swiffer McGee and company in the deciding Game 7. There can be any doubt of the outcome, but of such are legends made.
