He probably won't be a great ball handler against nba type on ball defense for his size. And his reach isn't even close to Giannis' reach even tho they are same height so he probably will get the ball stripped a lot if he dribbles too much....
I dunno, something is just off about Simmons in the NBA even though I love his abilities....
1. His post game is actually very good. At LSU he regularly schooled guys in the post. He score most of his points there.
2. His reach isn't close to Giannis.. but then not many in the NBA are. Giannis has a 7ft 4 reach!
3. He is going to be our point guard not point forward. He is skilled enough that if opposing guards do try to strip the ball... Simmons is going to blow right past them. Regularly saw him doing it in highschool and college where he would almost bait guys into trying to strip him of the ball.
I'm much more confident in his ability to run the team at the point than I am in him as a point forward. He is a natural ball handler and guard especially in the open court.... something the 76ers badly lacked this year.
It's a pity we never got to see it even in pre-season games... but according to Charles Barkley who got to watch a closed scrimmage before the season started, he was in awe of watching Simmons and Embiid out on court together... and this was before Embiid had played a game.
