KO and Brown were terrible defenders when they came into the league, and the coaching staff turned things around. And while they were learning, they still got some meaningful minutes. Yabs won't get minutes because KO is better defensively? Well, when KO came into the league he couldn't guard a chair. If Yabs can show offensive competence, I think he'll get minutes while he learns defense.

When KO came into the league the Celtics were tanking, this team is competing for the number 1 seed in the conference. It's a huge difference. Not only that but Brown was far ahead of Yabusele on defense even early on in the season. Nobody is saying he can't get there one day but as it stands right now, Yabs wouldn't even be a rotation guy here

I do agree with this, but would only add that Yabusele's physical skills should allow him to become a good defender. He has long arms, good feet, and unusual strength and bulk.

Maybe he can develop his defensive skills quickly now that it will become a point of great emphasis. For the moment he doesn't seem to know what to do on that end in many situations.

Agreed, I just dont think it ends up being one of those new two way deals. I think he gets a multi year deal with at least one guaranteed season.

Reckon we will have Nader, Yabs & Zizic for sure on the roster as we will move quite a few players in the offseason

Yabusele has no minutes restriction tonight. It's another quick scoring start for him. 8 points in 6 minutes and hasn't missed. Nice footwork on a drive down the lane. Has some turnovers though.

Great sequence for Yabs. Got a huge block on one end, sprinted down and got a lay up on the other end. 10 points in 11 minutes. Mickey and Jalen Jones (who can play) doing very well. Nader too.

If only we could put Smart's heart, intensity, and cajones in that DNA, we would have a madman taking over the league.

Brown clearly has a ton of drive. He may not look it on the court always, but he came in to the NBA basically a non-shooter and now he's turning into a plus shooter. He must be putting in a lot of hours. For all his histrionics on court, Smart hasn't been able to do that.

Yeah, Jalen Jones can ball. He's been great all year.

Yabusele had another short stint. Hit a 3 and got a nice contested rebound and off balance put back. Hasn't missed from the field. 15 points in 14 minutes at the half. He is a fun player.

Mickey almost has a double double at the half. Nader smooth and creative on offense.

Yabs 2nd half- Hit a 3, had a great drive from the deep baseline and big slam, finally missed a couple of shots, hit another 3, ended the quarter with another great drive. 22 points on 9-11 in 21 minutes. One point game going into the 4th. Winner advances.

Yabusele can do some things.
