So you're advocating for a full teardown and rebuild then?

I don't know about that. It does impact his pay day this free agency though.
I think for team cohesion we would probably play a bit better with Corey and Wright only because the ball hummed a lot more.
You can tell Lowry was forcing passes trying to facilitate though.
Regardless all of our players need to hit some damn shats!!

Maybe now demar haters will finally see this is demars team and stop calling Lowry the heart and soul of this team. This city deserves a player that doesn't choke every playoffs.

You don't need a tear down without Lowry. This team was winning games when he was sitting on the side lines yelling at players. All you need to do is find a good starting PG, or roll with Joseph or wright. After all we were winning games with them running this show. Lowry is not the be all and end all. Joseph has been better than him in the playoffs anyways.

Okay, let's say you let Lowry walk and resign everyone else. Aren't we on the cusp or even in the tax anyway. No way they want to, nor should they go into the tax under those circumstances. So you probably can't use your MLE to sign you starting point guard. Which means a trade. Who you imagine we'd get for Carroll? Or if you threw in Joseph or JV?
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

They both have really bad fg% in playoffs. DD is just marginally better than Lowry. Both of them are mental midgets.

no Carroll, Patterson and even JV can kick bricks with a open toe shoes. Carroll is useless on most nights and pat in not consistent.Zeno wrote:RaptorsNorth wrote:You don't need a tear down without Lowry. Re: If Lowry performs like this in the series he shouldn't be re-signed
Its a pattern and it really doesn't matter why. It could be that he's mentally weak or it could be that he simply can't play more than 60 games without sustains some kind of injury that kills his production in the playoffs. Fact is this is 3 years in a row it's happened. He's 31 so the odds are that next year the same thing will happen and when he's 32 it will happen and do on. He's not going to get younger and healthier. He's a 31 year old veteran do he's nit suddenly going to develop playoff mental toughness.
If he can be signed and traded great. Regardless if he's on the roster this time next year people can't be surprised if the results are the same.

So let Patterson walk. Use the MLE on what? What kind of starting guard you getting for a package of JV and Carroll? You really want to sign a 32 year old PJ with Lowry gone? Would Ibaka even want to stay if the other 3 are not back?
Personally Lowry is a domino that triggers a Demar trade. He's get a pretty great return and that couple with all the young guys, you are half way to a rebuild already. I think teams get in trouble trying to hold together a team that at best will be 80 percent of what it was with no prospects of improvement.

why would we move demar lol the guy is having a career year and proved we can win with him. You don't need to blow the team completely up. All you need to do it dump the dead weight which is carroll, lowry, pat and JV if you have to.Zeno wrote:RaptorsNorth wrote:no Carroll, Patterson and even JV can kick bricks with a open toe shoes.Zeno wrote:

Re: If Lowry performs like this in the series he shouldn't be re-signed
I love how people act like losing carroll or pat is such a major lost. When's the last time carroll had a good game ? Patterson only really plays defence and that's it. His rebounding numbers is brags bad and his offensive numbers are worse than pascal's when he was starting. You don't sign players to big contracts that can only do one thing well. There's bums in the D league and Europe that can guard with the best of them and have no shot. If you want somebody to play defence, don't make open shots and don't rebound then you sign one of them for a couple mill. You don't resign patterson to a 9 to 10 million dollar contract to just play defence, brick open shot's and grab 2 rebounds a game. There's a crap load of players that found themselves out of the league for being that type of player. That's why Pj was out of the league. He was what patterson is right now. Just a guy that played defence with no shot. Patterson right now is that type of player. He plays good D but does not rebound well and has a inconsistent shot. You don't sign a player like that to a 10 mill contract when those guys are all over Europe and the D league for cheap.

What injury? Who's saying he was injured? He took the max time coming back from surgery and played 4 games and shot pretty decently. There is no injury excuse.

If we lose this series we need a proper rebuild, this bandaid team never worked. Rebuild like the leafs did through the draft. Hire the best talent/scout in the game (like hunter on leafs ) , we have the money. Lowry needs to be let go. If we get to ecf that's a different story.

zilby wrote:I don't understand what Casey does to prepare for a playoff series. This is the sixth time a coach has blitzed him in a Game 1. That's a preparation and strategy issue. We completely went away from our strengths that worked in the second quarter and played to the Bucks' pace. The pace that a rookie, Brogdon, was dictating.
Kyle, for all his awesome play, is a complete bonehead on the court sometimes and even more so when things don't go his way. He needs to stop being such a mental midget and not get rattled when adversity strikes.
Carroll was complete ass. Ineffective on both ends.
Patterson hit an open 3 and played some good D in the second quarter, not much else.
We froze out DD, Ibaka and JV in the second half for no apparent reason. Those three were the only ones scoring for us today.
God, this team infuriates me sometimes.
What pisses me off the most is he's always getting pwned by b level coaches. Not popovich or Carlyle but kidd Wittman and lue

I disagree. DeRozan plays exactly the same way in the playoffs as the regular season, he just has to force the issue way more because Lowry isn't doing anything.
Lowry legitimately does not look like the same player at all. He got absolutely taught a lesson by John Wall two years ago and George Hill last year. This year he's being outplayed by a rookie that isn't even really a true point guard and having no impact on the game.
