Big changes are needed because whatever the game-plan for game 1 was, obviously didn't work.

Literally everyone other than Taj not on a rookie contract was bad.

If this is supposed to make me feel better it's not working.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

It wasn't. I didn't say I expected it to change, just a general statement. I'd argue the two best players were Robes and Semaj.

I was thinking more because the only players not on rookie deals were Russ, enes, and Cole.

Oops was counting Dipo and Adams too, forgot they still are.
I think I'm rooting for the Wizards out east. Scotty can prove em wrong

Against HOU you should probably trot with;
Westbrook-Oladipo
Oladipo-Abrines
Roberson-Grant
McD-Grant
Adams-Gibson

Adams-Gibson

Re: Playoffs 2017: WC First Round - Houston Rockets (3) vs Oklahoma City Thunder (6)
What a look into our future. Winning enough games courtesy of Russ and despite everyone else to make the playoffs, then getting destroyed because of our totally inept coach. He's trotted out every line up under the sun- but we haven't seen Taj at Center. Not even when Adams is in worse than career worse form and Kanter can't stop a pick and roll to save his life.
But yeah, it's really, really bad if we don't trade at least one of Kanter, Oladipo or Adams. We've got so much money tied up in at best 4th or 5th options, they aren't going to get traded, our coach isn't going to get fired...
At least Roberson had a career best game. If he could build on that, that'd be tremendous. But could also potentially fool someone into overpaying him like what happened with Adams in the previous playoffs.

Against the one team in the league that only takes 2s in the paint and 3s, we don't bother guarding the paint.

Nice game by OKC's defensive player of the year candidate Roberson holding Harden to only 37 points. Boy he's really something let me tell you. LMFAO!! This franchise continues to be delusional about this kid as he does nothing whatsoever to slow down the elite players in the NBA and I knew this would happen because in the regular season Harden wasn't even trying to score against him because he didn't really need to. Roberson scored some because Houston did what the Warriors did in last year's playoffs....they LITERALLY DIDN'T GUARD HIM! The only player that I've ever seen in the history of the playoffs that a team didn't even bother to guard. We all know that's gold though with him luckily hitting some 3s since he missed his last 14 in a row in the regular season. This is what happens when your GM loads the team with defensive one way players who can't shoot and score like Roberson, Grant, Sabonis, Adams and Christon. This series is over because Donovan won't play the lineup we need to beat Houston

Roberson guarded Harden? I thought that was Adams' man. Oh billy, you sly dog. I just can't keep up with all of his tactical moves. Can't wait to see Cole and Semaj out there together raining threes on Wednesday night. Thunder up baby!

You really are a special kind of stupid.
Guarded by Robes/Robes being part of the defensive play: 5/15
Guarded by any other OKC player: 8/13

LMAO. Roberson does absolutely nothing to stop the elite players in the NBA and it gets worse in the playoffs as we saw last year when Leonard and Thompson both easily surpassed their regular season scoring averages with Roberson predominantly guarding them. I knew the regular season success Roberson had was fool's gold because I watched every game and frankly Harden wasn't really even looking to score because he didn't need to. Now that it's the playoffs Roberson has absolutely no chance against Harden and the only reason he didn't score 45 is because the game was a blowout. It has nothing to do with trolling I'm just an objective fan who actually watches the games and I know what I'm seeing. I'm watching a D-League player start for a team with a superstar on it and we are going to lose Westbrook because Sam Presti has surround him with a bunch of defensive one way players who can't shoot and score. I personally guarantee you that if OKC doesn't re-sign Roberson he will be out of the NBA because there's no other team that would want him.

Re: Playoffs 2017: WC First Round - Houston Rockets (3) vs Oklahoma City Thunder (6)
Bad time for Westbrook to have his worst passing game of the season by far. So many bad turnovers. Not that it would have made much of a difference for the end result given how bad everyone else was...Oladipo couldn't hit anything and Adams reverted to his "no rebounds" form. Roberson was great, but he'll probably go 2/16 from 3 in the next games.
Still don't get nobody in the media criticises Donovan. That's two seasons in a row he's been terrible throughout. He's had one good playoff series (against the Spurs) and even there he completely failed in the first game with some hilariously dumb defensive schemes. I don't get why last night he insisted on switching so much even when Kanter was in. Leaving your bigs on an island against Harden won't work, especially when used so often and he has the time to adapt and expects it.

Re: Playoffs 2017: WC First Round - Houston Rockets (3) vs Oklahoma City Thunder (6)
Problem is not about bad passing from WB or turnovers (well, it's a reason of course), but this is coming because or main problem is that we want to play on a fast pace while we can't compete against the rockets playing like that : they are quicker, faster and have way better shooter. We have to impose our pace no matter what and play on a very slow pace. Try to impose our pace as much as we can (something the grizzlies succeed doing against better teams for years).
We have to defend the paint and hope that they don't hit a very high % of 3's (and stop making silly fouls from 3's). Letting Harden to drive so easily to the paint is crazy. Not that we have a lot of chances but that's the only way IMO.

We really can't compete against fast pacing teams : GS, Houston, SUNS, blazers when they want to play fast. It's just impossible trying to play fast against them. And everytime our team is behind we try to play faster because we feel desperate. That's stupid.

And btw: This is exactly why Donovan not giving a rat's ass about our 2nd unit is hurting is now. It's game 83 and we still have no idea what we're gonna do once our starters are off the floor.
PS: Safe for the last couple of minutes, the Rockets never had less than two starters on the floor at the same time. Donovan of course went 10 deep right from the start.
