Melo and Lala Seperated (Update: Getting A Divorce)

Post#1 » by Damas » Mon Apr 17, 2017 8:18 pm

Sources close to the couple tell us the actress and NBA superstar are now living separately. La La moved out of the family home last week and has her own place in NYC now.

We're told the couple's had ups and downs in the past, but the current NBA season has been extremely stressful on the marriage for several months. Carmelo's been plagued by trade talks ... with the Knicks looking to move him to another team.

Our sources say the split is still amicable. They were together just this past weekend at their 10-year-old son Kiyan's basketball game.

We're told La La and Carmelo have NO plans to uproot Kiyan from his friends and school in NY.

Problem is ... it seems likely Carmelo will have to leave town, because just last week Knicks President Phil Jackson said it was time for him to go.

Neither is talking divorce yet, just separation. The couple got married in 2010.

[La La to get primary custody of their 10-year old son.

Earlier this week it was revealed that Carmelo Anthony and his wife of seven years, La La Anthony, had split up because Melo messed around and got another woman pregnant.

While the two are just separated for now, TMZ reports that "they are absolutely getting divorced" though they've yet to file the legal documents.

As part of the split, which they're handling on their own outside of court for now, La La will get primary custody of their 10-year old son Kiyan but Melo will be able to visit as often as he likes.

Additionally, because of the way the prenup is written, La La can argue that she deserves more of Melo's money if these allegations of infidelity are true.

According to the NY Daily News, the couple's relationship has been on the rocks for over a year and those close to the situation are not surprised that a divorce is imminent.

This is sad. :( At least they're still on good terms (according to TMZ...for whatever that's worth).

But makes it easier to move Melo, now he doesn't have to take the wife with him.

It's rough though, hate to see a family split.

here comes the deplorables celebrating the fact that man's marriage is falling apart because it affects their fandom of a children's game

Dude is having one of the worst off seasons ever. Thoughts go out to their son, luckily seems like they're getting along.

Theyre separated which is something I did recently. Probably still love each other but things happen. If it's meant to be they'll get back together.

Phil is becoming as big a failure as he was a success. Add home wrecker to his long list of flaws and faults as a GM.

Trade talks happen to EVERY team and player. Their marriage was on glass grounding to have been "supposedly" affected by this.

I mean, this was just as bad as in 2010-11 when he was on his way out to NJ/NY from Denver.

Some of y'all are taking this Phil hate to new levels now.

Very sad if this is true.

Stuff like this is why I try to stay away from going after these guys personally. From the outside, it looks like Melo really had to choose between his family and his career. That's a terrible place to be in. For his career it's best to move on - he had to know that. But that's a heck of a cost.

Sadly, TMZ had better sources and reporting than ESPN.

People even uttering Phil's name as Melo's marriage is ending have to be joking...right...right?
