No. Bernard King didn't get his number retired. There's no reason to retire Melo's.

First Jeanne and Phil now Melo and Lala. Not a good workplace environment. No Work/Life balance.

I think it's the other way around. Apparently the turbulent season took it's toll on them. It's time for a fresh start for him, and I think everyone knows it. You think another year of losing here will save his family?

Did you read the article? It's widely understood that LaLa wants to stay in NY. That's why she went and purchased her own place, her family is in NY and said she's against taking her son out of school. So if they're separated .. you think Melo is going to leave her here while trying to work it out?

Also the season took a toll, but they were having problems before this outside of basketball

He's not even gone yet, and they broke up. I doubt staying here would keep them together.

Marbury.

Could score AND pass. Just never had a proper supporting cast (should've kept KVH :banghead: ).

Money doesn't make you get over that, so people need to stop bringing up his paycheck as a way to say "get over it". That's some really dumb ****.

Neither one accomplished much as a Knick, hence why neither one will get their number retired. All the players who have their number retired at least played in the Finals for us.

Looking back on it. Do you think this was all worth it? Signing melo rather than looking elsewhere. Maybe even wait till summer to sign him and not gut the team.

Let's face it. He's another marbury-easque kind of player. Just never worked out.

With all this talk about Melo and Phil not showing respect, is there anything more insulting to Melo and Lala than assuming that him being a Knick, or what was or was not done by Phil, impacts their marriage?

Absurd.

I can imagine what went down. Melo spent all his time reading Phil's books and studying triangle completely ignoring Lala.

http://pagesix.com/2017/04/17/carmelo-and-la-la-anthony-have-separated/

Sources said the couple lost their spark when Anthony got traded to the Knicks from Denver in 2011. “At the very beginning, he was so smitten and in love with her,” a source said. “She was on TV and he was so young. Their relationship was legit. “At the end of his Denver stint and beginning of his New York stint, it became more about their business arrangement.” The source said they had been in a relationship “in name only” for some time.

“It’s very much a Hollywood relationship,” a source said. “They’ve lived separate lives for years.”

Can't believe some of you were really trying to blame Phil for this too, smh. This has been coming for a while, has nothing to do with staying in New York or not.
