I don't think that these trades the Cubs are making are necessarily useless. I think that Pinella has a say in what is going on. I think that he is finally getting all of the players that he doesn't see as 'fitting' on his team out of Chicago. I think that this will prove to be a good thing down the stretch for the Cubs. Most of the moves made, if not all, in the offseason were made prior to LP coming aboard. I like what is happening right now with this team. Get rid of Barrett and Izturis. Jones was on his way out, and probably still is, hopefully. Hendry is at least not sitting back and saying, "I traded for this guy and we're going to stick with him so I don't have to admit I made a mistake."

I agree. Dusty was too chum chum with the players to do this.

Lou cares about winning a lot more than Dusty ever did.

I have no proof or evidence of what I wrote about, but I just have a feeling that this is the case and I actually think I might be right about this one.
