Oh well. On to the Red Claws. Somebody's got to get a win this week.

Nader is having a rough start to the game but he's basically the Brandon Roy of the D league...

...which sounds good until you remember that Jordan Mickey is like the Dwight Howard of the D league.

Toronto area code, if I recall correctly.

Even if they're not all destined for greatness, it's nice that so many of the guys soaking up major minutes have some relevance for us. Nader, Mickey, Jackson, Yabs all in top 6 in minutes. Makes it easy to actually get somewhat invested in the game, when it's not a bunch of guys you've never heard of.

Yes, although the refereeing and general quality of play is horribly ugly, you do get some nice glimmers of potential from these guys. For example, Yabu's length and size definitely stands out, as does Nader's smoothness, handle and ability to get to the rim. Toronto's team includes a few players on NBA rosters (Caboclo, Siakam, Leslie, Singler) so at least you have a sense that they're playing borderline NBA level competition.

Brady freaking Heslip just made four 3pt shots in 3 minutes (and 3 in 50 seconds).

Sometimes I really dislike the 3-pointer.

Edit: Make that five. 15 pts for Heslip in 3:52. Can only hope to contain him, apparently.
