Let's hope to God they throw in Crowder or another young piece

Dre for a top 4 pick would not be a good look for the Pistons esp if that pick is a question mark not a guarantee

We need at least one productive player in return and i do NOT want Kelly that scumbag ever donning a Pistons jersey

Huh?? Getting a top-tier player in this year's draft and drummonds $20+ million off the books wouldn't be good enough for you?

Celtics will not be trading their pick for Drummond. Not a chance. They have max cap space this summer. They're not gonna waste it by taking g on Drummond plus losing their pick. They'll be able to sign one or two guys plus use their pick

Who are they gonna sign? Mason plumlee? A broken down bogut?

Cap implications will play into they're decision as well. IT won't make 6 million forever

Not a Celtics fan to say the least but I'm rooting for Isaiah. Can't imagine what he's going through right now and having his terrific season culminate in such a disappointing meltdown would really suck.

As improbable as it might be I hope they are able to make a comeback.

He may be able to play at this level for awhile, but he is a HUGE salary and that contract is going to look worse every year. And is Thomas really the player to get you a championship? He is good, and amazing considering his size, but not sure if he is the best player on a championship team. And he is going to want to get paid a LOT when his contract is up. And all the assets that the Celtics seem to have, there are a lot of good, or even above average guys, but they are running out of playing time. So what do they do with a top 4 pick this year in terms of fitting them in the lineup? I seriously think Ainge blew it at the trade deadline. They should have traded 2-3 players and got Butler.

They definitely need more star power.
Isaiah Thomas is an all-star, but he's more of a scoring guard suited to an off the bench role.
Trading for Butler, PG, or Demarcus would have been awesome for them. Really all they need is rebounding though.
Lonzo Ball would take all their role players to another level.
Fultz and IT are close friends already.

They have a good coach, they overperform, and they have a lot of options to add stars moving forward- which is way more than we can say about the Pistons.

The Pistons underperform, they have a bad coach, and they don't have many options moving forward except to hope that the guys they have don't get injured and keep getting better in spite of being put in a position to fail.

SVG hasn't been on the job as long as Ainge though.

How long have the Celtics straddled this line of "out source the tank, treadmill for now"?
