Plus with Gobert down it looks like George Hill on an expiring deal and 40 year old Joe Johnson have been his biggest help.

It's less exciting than the Durant chase but that's got to be the priority this summer IMO. If another star is available cheap in trade then great, but adding an AS caliber wing for nothing but money is a no brainer right now.

He will very likely get 3rd team All-NBA and become supermax eligible, which Utah will very likely give him.

You can all but cross him off the list, IMO.

Ab+pick if not nb1
For
Butler or george

Would be willing to add smart if necessary.

Than sign hayward or preferably griffin as fa.

That is best case.

It
Butler
Crowder
Griffin
Horford

Still we would have rozier, crowder, zizic of the bench.

This team can win it imo.

Just to be clear, elite level role players get this money now Especially ones right in their prime at 26-27. 18-23 mil. And we can fit him in with no incursion on our cap situation if the other move to make in tandem is a trade for PG13 who is currently only making 18M. That completes our starting 5 with 2 alpha dogs and 3 elite role-players in support that play excellent on and off ball defense and all can spread the floor. Green also rebounds better than Al so if you want rebounds, he does that. Forget the money for a second. We know Wyc will go over the cap for a contending team so if you don't like Green, tell me why he doesn't help the team he'd be playing with in this scenario. Don't tell me the money's wrong. That's not a reason.
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!

Let's go for the madness :

Avery/Rozier/Zeller/Yabusele/BK18/BOS18 for Hassan Whiteside

Crowder/Jaylen/Jackson/Mickey/BK17/MIN17 2nd/LAC 1st for Paul George

IT/ Vet
Smart / Nader
George / Green
Horford / Jerebko
Whiteside / Zizic

Yep, trade half our players and our best draft picks for two players. It's late, I'm tired and I'm not the Celtics GM...don't be mad at me please !!!

Hmm. Hadn't payed much attention to that part. That stinks.

I'll have to look at how those break down.

I'd rather clear cap space and chase Griffin at the max. Gambling on the health of an All-Star >>> gambling that much money to hope Green reaches his potential.

I disagree. I see a player that put up solid numbers this year. He's in his prime and his best is yet to come. Everything in his skillset fit in with what we do here. He's an efficient, low usage player. I think he's a better defender than Griffin FWIW. I get why you like Griffin. I just don't trust him nor believe that he would come here. I'd rather clear cap space and chase Hayward, or trade for PG myself than go after Blake.

EDIT: Green had he played enough minutes would have qualified for top 15 in TS% and eFG% and I say that while he averaged 27 mpg. So he wasn't far off. Gotta think 3 or 4 more mpg wouldn't change much. If we add a Hayward or a George to IT those 2 players are gonna have a high usage. Then add in how much Al handles. We need to have some guys that are comfortable playing off the actions of others and finishing plays either in the paint or on the perimeter.

The guy averaged 12 and 9 per 36. And a whopping 0.6 blocks per 36. For the kind of money you want to throw at Green, you might as well call Ibaka's agent first. At least with him, you know exactly what you're getting, as opposed to, again, hoping that Green pans out.

What's hard to understand? Green is a try hard solid player that is good, I like him, but a collection of these types don't win titles. How much do you have to pay a player like this? 960k?? Sure sign me up but the price going up soon buddy. Evan Turner wasn't retained for the reason we need the cap. Not rocket science.

I don't agree, not in a million years. Concentrate on quality only.

I would make a hard push for Porzingis. I would go as far as offering the #1 or offering Brown + Brooklyn 17 for him. Then sign Hayward.

IT - Bradley - Hayward - Zinger - Horford
Smart - Crowder - Yabs - Zizic

Wow, ok, didn't think I needed to actually name guys like Crowder, Smart, AB, Horford etc. J.Green is not gonna get us over the hump. Ainge is not working his ass off tirelessly, planning, scouting etc. for a guy like Green in FA. Not happening. Time to consolidate the treasure chest. I love these guys but let's face it, they're all expendable.

So Indy got swept by Cleveland that should help put George on the market and not have Indy thinking about building around George.

let's say we get #1 and trade it straight up for George I think we could keep KO and bring over Yabs and Zizic

IT - Bradley - George - Crowder - Horford
Rozier - Smart - Brown - Yabs - KO - Zizic

pretty damn good team.

Good, good.. get the dude. I'm more than okay with a deal centered around the 18 pick.

I'd argue they lost some leverage when they stood pat at the deadline. If you have Fultz or Ball on the board I don't trade them for George, particularly without an extension. Make Indy sweat a bit.

I'm sorry, when did any of those guys save Horford become 6'9? Average 7 rebs in under 28mpg. This is a plug n play 4. And again, when did PAUL GEORGE become part of this "collection of types" you speak of?

Would people give the Brooklyn 2018 & Brown for a re-signed PG13? Then we draft Fultz?
