So, there's that. The Rangers could trade him to a team that is both on Gagne's list and could use the set-up help

If he was smart he'd realize that he'd be the closer next year as CoCo walks away cuz he's going to get a HUGE payday and we won't be able to resign him. Gagne would come a little cheaper.
Only reason we'd go after Gagne would be if we traded Turnbow or Wise...

Yup. He's a Boras guy and a FA. He'll veto any trade made if he's not going to be the closer. Jim was hammering him on the air last night because of it.
well...

I think Larry Harris is on the phone right now trying to trade for him so he can back up Yi next season.
No, Harris is going after Sheffield to be Bogut's best friend.

gagne could get just as much money as cordero and id take him over coco especially if coco comes back to the AL.
gagne wants to be a closer because he has incentive clauses where if he gets a certain amount of finished games and saves he'll get more money.
i dont know if the brewers are on his 12 team list where he cant block a trade but i cant imagine milwaukee being on it.

After seeing what CoCo has done I'd imagine that Gagne wouldn't mind pitching for the Crew. I mean why not. They only have the best record in the National League and all.

youd think that but i doubt he cares much about setting up seeing how he's a former cy young winner plus as i said he's interested as making as much money as possible with his incentives of finishing games.
he's a boras client and will be a f/a after this year so he'll be looking for top dollar as a closer.
