It's so pathetic seeing all the same nimrods from the Melo fan club come in here and try to rile people up about KP leaving because of Phil. Meanwhile, based on all the signs and quotes KP is giving us, it's clear once again that Melo is the team's biggest problem.

Tell me how any of this has to do with Phil, aside from the fact that he assembled the team (and I know that's a big aside, but humor me for a moment):

-The vibes in the locker room this season were terrible
-Noah was the vocal leader they needed, needed more players like him
-Noah played in a system his whole career so he "knows how to play the right way and refuses to play another"
-Noah was the one guy who would tell players things they don't want to hear
-Shame Noah couldn't play more, because from the bench, he couldn't make up for the "stupid mistakes" the team constantly made
-KP tried to be a leader and speak up in the locker room, but you can't change guys who have been playing hero ball for 10 years (aka, can't change the spots on a leopard)
-KP's brothers were pissed about KP not getting the ball this year. During one game, Janis broke a TV in a hotel room after watching the Knicks freeze out KP
-only thing KP says about Melo is that he's a "really chill dude", and "nothing can fire him up". AKA, he's there to collect his money and score points, and doesn't have sh*t to say, even when the team is in dire need of a leader

Melo is a BITCH and a CANCER. GTFOH.

KP loves NY, loves being a Knick, and if he doesn't love Phil, he sure as hell respects him, and will learn to respect him even more once the cancer is removed and the Knicks start playing "the right way", just as KP keeps lobbying for publicly.

Do yourself a favor and ignore the Debbie Downers on this forum. The alarmists, the fear mongers, the jealous nut jobs who can't stomach Phil's success, the neurotic wackos who think they should have been NBA execs in another life, and the seasoned posters on this board who would rather promote their own catch phrases than have a real basketball discussion.

Ignore them all. Everything is fine, because Phil is trading Melo's ass and rebuilding around KP, and you will like it.

Truth be told... As overrated and soft as this guy is, what's the issue here? American players go play for Team USA with no issue. If the guy wants to play for his people then so be it. Let him play.

I bash the guy more than most because I hold him to the franchise player standards you guys portray him to be, but some stuff just be reaching. Hopefully he's off the team and we can stop talking about the guy.

Seems like KP (and everyone else) liked Melo/Rose personally. Rose, in particular, must have been tough for him to play with. It's just not what you need from your PG. You can play Melo next to a CP3 and he'll fall in line but there's not much you can do to change a leopard's spots when he's the one "organizing" the offense.

You know, the more I think about it, the more I think the critiques are towards Rose and not Melo. KP's played with Melo for 2 seasons and Melo's showed a willingness to buy in at times. I mean, maybe some of it is towards Melo because Melo will revert HARD to old ways, but the comments about playing one way in the league and hard to change but especially the comment about roster construction, I really think that is much more directed at Rose. But maybe a has a bit of critique of the overall, as Rose and Melo are both ball dominant, so not only was Rose just not good in general, but particularly bad fit with Melo. I think this is what he is getting at. Or, basically saying he doesn't like playing with Rose.

Yeah - and the other reason I think it's particularly targeted at Rose is because there's still a chance the Knicks retain him. Melo's departure is nearly certain and I think he's sending the message that if you're getting rid of one, you need to get rid of the other too. If you're talking about a guy freezing KP out (like his brother did) - that's Rose.

lol even though i know y'all would rather focus on the tongue-in-cheek shawn bradley comparison, don't forget that phil compared rookie KP to a young pau gasol - he's not going to trade him. stance on his resume aside, it's a little funny to me that so many fans assume their interpretation of phil jackson's decision making process informs accurate speculation even though those same people are proven wrong all the time. the best example of this habit on this board is the assumption that phil wants ntilikina whether we're slated top 5 or top 8. might be true, but what do we have to inform that speculation aside from frank being a tall guard from europe? it's possible that mills has more of a say than we think, too. he is the GM. don't forget that this team traded for a derrick rose rental and re-signed melo with a NTC, which is contrary to most of the other moves phil has made. it seems to me there's an agreement in place that the FO is allowed to make moves to compete as long as they don't interfere with jackson's longterm process (rose expiring, short and/or tradeable contracts, etc)

Every single day you are saying the same thing over and over again... it's like reading an old book once again when you already know how it ends.

We got it, you hate KP.

You trade KP, you draft another one, then after two years you will start to bash other drafted high lottery guy and will want to trade him, then you trade him, then you draft another one... like a never ending cycle, when you got finally what you want after all these years of trading young players, you realize that it's been 20 years and the team has been moved to Seattle tbh

Yep it's time, kps gone folks...

He wants to win now, but we aren't going to be winning anything anytime soon.

With melo gone its going to be a true rebuild and i dont think kp has the tempermant to go through that.

He's gone folks just accept it now.
