Jimmy Butler says Marcus Smart 'not about that life' after game 4 scuffle

The whole Marcus Smart flopping thing is way overstated anymore.....he for sure was one of the worst last year but he has toned it WAY down this season and hasn't had any memorable flops all year.

He wasn't really even in the wrong for getting in Jimmy's face. The Celtics got boned by the refs all game and he was straight up being held by Butler which led to Smart getting ripped and and easy layup.

This series is already over. Hoilberg can't figure out how to have D. Wade or Butler run a half court offense in Rondo's absence. He allowed Green to run Lopez out of his line up which can't happen. Go under the pick and make Green take 20 shots a game. If you lose a series to Green, oh well. I'm not even convinced that Mirotic is an NBA player at this point and he's getting serious minutes in a tight playoff series. Bulls have completely surrendered their rebounding advantage because their coach is a moron. Rondo is not enough of an impact player at this point in his career for the Bulls to turn into shambles due to his absence.

In truth, Smart should be the one to be careful because it's his team that's likely to advance.

Marcus is for sure a flopper, but people who don't watch him wouldn't know about how tough a defender dude is. He's harder than 99% of the league. How many point guards can defend power forwards when called upon?

He's all heart honestly. Respect to Butler but he's way off here.

Exactly. This is like with Zaza and KG back in the day. If they scuffle and both get ejected, huge victory for Atlanta.

Best thing Smart could do in this series would be to get both himself and JB tossed. JB needs to keep that perspective.

There's a lot to take out of this stuff I've read on smart but the thing that sticks out to me is how can you be so stupid to play "cowboys and indians" with a real loaded shotgun and accideny kill a 5 year old? Did that person even go to jail? So dumb.

I don't know who would come out on top if they fought, but I don't think Butler would take a beating as long as Smart would. Butler would have to beat the piss out of Smart before he quit.

It's as if people haven't watched him at all. I guess not much reason to watch unless their team is playing Boston.

I don't see anything wrong with what either player did in Game 4. If JB wants to say that, fine. MS now back it up with game on the court.

If I were Smart (pun not intended)...I would go at Jimmy every single play next game, pulling a Lance Stephenson-LeBron circa 2014. Because of reasons stated in this thread: Bulls can't afford to lose Butler but the Cs can win without Smart...if he takes out Butler.

If I'm the Cs coaching staff I would fuel it as much as possible and see if Butler can deal with the pressure. He's human and already carrying the Bulls on both ends. Smart could definitely bother the hell out of his dribble drives and constantly badger him verbally.

He had to actually throw a forearm after a play to get Jimmy's attention. Anyone thinking he's going to A) get Jimmy off his game or B) get him suspended/ejected needs to bark up another tree.
