True but he's still a lot better then both those players who are on just as long of contracts and adds up to about the same in salary between the two of them.

so you would trade a first for Melo who is basically a no defense ball hog these days?

Oh no, I said there's no way I'm adding in a 1st though.

i would say no and melo would too. hes not waiving his NTC, even if we traded a bag of chips and added him to this exact roster

Ding ding... was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring this up... it's not Detroit's option.

Isn't there at least one "trade for Melo" thread every year?

He can still score 20+ points per night. But, that's all he gives you, and it really isn't outweighing the negatives anymore.

And yet on this team no one can even do that lol. Like I said if all your doing is trading two contracts that equal the same as and are two far less superior players then screw it. And it's not like his ISO play would hurt considering we don't move the ball anyways.

I think we would be a playoff team with Melo. I also think we'd never get out of the first round.

You make some fair points. I still wouldn't be excited about Melo, and I'm pretty sure Melo wouldn't wave his NTC to come to Detroit and battle it for the 7 seed in the east.

Exactly. Don't forget that Melo wants to be in NYC.

I doubt Melo will ever be traded. I think Melo is of the mindset that Phil Jackson isn't going to chase him out of MSG. If Phil Leaves, I think Melo waves that NTC within hours. If Melo decides he is leaving NYC before or after Jackson, it wouldn't be to go to Detroit. Knicks fans want both Melo and Jackson gone. The fans hate the fact that Phil insist on the triangle offense which the players are having difficulties adjusting to.
