It's to bad Nurkic got injured. I think they could have been mote competitive with him in this series. Definitely not get swept.

I thought Atlanta were on the downswing when they traded Korver but they're just one of those teams that will keep chugging.
Taurean Prince yet another rookie around Val's range that is outplaying him, as well.
Hardaway Jr ended up paying off for them. The Hawks have been spot on with finding wings.
More importantly, they've been brilliant at developing wings. They made DeMarre Carroll and Kent Bazemore a lot of money. Will do the same with Hardaway. Prince looks great.

The odds of getting a Jokic, or an IT or even a guy with high high upside who's starting to show it, Powell and so many others we see in the league.

They're useful. It's silly that we gave one away in the Taj trade. I posted elsewhere, when you look at the true standout players in the NBA -- the franchise guys, or near-franchise guys -- of course there are a lot of top 5 picks. But after that, it falls off, particularly when you get into the teens. The middle to lower part of the first round doesn't yield many more standouts than does the second round. Yeah, you're likelier to get a useful rotation player if you draft #19 than #38, but in terms of getting a true difference maker, those picks are pretty close.

No it doesn't.

Presti - "Hey, great working with you guys, hope you enjoy your new players!"
GarPax - "Same to you." Raises a beer in salute.
Presti - "Can I ask you guys a favor?"
GarPax - Feeling giddy. "Yeah sure, Sam. Any time. What do you want?"
Presti - "Well, I was just hoping you could toss in a second rounder. I mean, I'm sending you three players, and I'm only getting two back. The media is gonna beat on me pretty good for that. If you could throw in a second rounder, I'd really be grateful."
GarPax - "Yeah I guess that would be OK."
Presti - "Thanks, fellas. I really mean that."
