This is one and maybe the only reason why I wouldn't mind passing up on Fournette in order to address another position of "greater need". Getting Cook in the second would be a steal. You already know that Shanahan loves RBs from FSU:

Dalvin Cook - RB - Player

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline is now "a believer" in Florida State RB Dalvin Cook falling to the second round.

Prior to signing Marshawn Lynch, a source with the Raiders told Pauline they expect Cook to be available when they pick at No. 24, which means they expect him to be bypassed by the Bucs, who have been heavily linked. If that happens, it will not be surprising to see Cook slip all the way to the second day. NFL.com draft analyst Lance Zierlein has reported some teams have "concerns surrounding durability and character" as well as how poorly he tested at the Combine.

Reuben Foster - LB - Crimson Tide

NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah says a number of teams are targeting Alabama LB Reuben Foster around pick No. 11.

This is important, as some think Foster might drop out of round one. Jeremiah mocks him to the Saints at No. 11. Rotoworld's Josh Norris has said the 49ers and Packers have shown strong interest, and San Francisco might move up to the end of round one from their early second round pick. Many coaches and evaluators believe Foster is a top two talent in this class.

Trubisky or Thomas in the first, and then Kizer in the second if we don't take Trub with the 2.

Deshaun Watson - QB - Tigers

Clemson QB Deshaun Watson says it would be a "slap in the face" if UNC's Mitch Trubisky is drafted ahead of him.

Watson argued that his "championship résumé" is what separates him from Trubisky. While Watson was the superior player in college, the NFL prefers Trubisky's raw tools. The odds are high that Watson will feel disrespected on Thursday night.

Christian McCaffrey - RB - Player

"A source with knowledge of the dynamics" believes the Christian McCaffrey to the Panthers at No. 8 chatter is "likely a smokescreen."

Profootballtalk reports McCaffrey's "expected range" is 5-15. The Panthers have been strongly connected to running backs at No. 8, but there's been growing chatter McCaffrey could be gone by then. Basically, seven hours before the draft, no one has any idea what's going to happen. Buckle up.

Maiocco believes Thomas is the guy if Garrett is off the board.

Gareon Conley - DB - Buckeyes

CBS' Jason La Canfora is becoming "more convinced" that Ohio State CB Gareon Conley will go in Round 1.

He arrived at this conclusion based on "the more phone calls I make" and the "more teams I talk to." A rape conviction levied against Conley earlier this week has left the NFL scrambling for information. Conley isn't scheduled to speak with the police until Monday. He's called the accusation "untrue, wrongful and malicious." Ian Rapoport and Mike Florio both reported over the past 24 hours that they're hearing Conley could go on Day 2, perhaps in Round 3. This is a fluid situation similar to the La'El Collins scenario from two years ago. Unlike what happened to Collins, we think Conley will get drafted.

Mitchell Trubisky - QB - Tar Heels

ESPN analysts Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay both have UNC QB Mitchell Trubisky going No. 1 to the Browns in their final mock drafts.

So does the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Bob McGinn. All three are extremely plugged-in within league circles. "The thinking is the Browns get antsy about Trubisky being available at No. 12 and don't find any takers to trade up," Kiper wrote. "Could Cleveland ownership get involved and insist on a QB here?" Adding to all this, the Las Vegas odds on Trubisky going No. 1 have fallen from 6-to-1 on Wednesday all the way to 2-to-1 on Thursday, while Myles Garrett's odds have dropped from -800 to -350.

So in his mock he has Trubs going 1st?

but on sportcenter, espn.com, he says "McShay considers Trubisky at No. 1 to be a mistake."

Cam Robinson - T - Player

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Broncos are "exploring" trading up on Thursday evening.

Desperate to improve the Broncos' offensive line, GM John Elway must believe his player might not be there at No. 20. In one of the weakest tackle classes in years, if not ever, Alabama's Cam Robinson is one of the top names available. Utah's Garett Bolles is another name to monitor.

DeShone Kizer - QB - Player

USA Today's Tom Pelissero reports the Cardinals have done a "lot of work" on Notre Dame QB DeShone Kizer.

Picking at No. 13, the Cards have been strongly connected to Texas Tech's Patrick Mahomes. Kizer would be more of a Day 2 option if the Cards strike out on Mahomes or settle on another position. Perhaps they could also trade back into the late first round to land Kizer.

JuJu Smith-Schuster - WR - Trojans

NFL Media's Daniel Jeremiah believes USC WR Juju Smith-Schuster could sneak into Round 1.

A favorite of Rotoworld's Thor Nystrom, Smith-Schuster hasn't been as well received by the draft media as a whole as he reportedly has been by the NFL. Smith-Schuster said recently that the Cowboys and Rams have shown the most interest in him. Dallas conveniently picks at the end of Round 1, while the Rams could easily enough trade into Day 1 if they felt motivated to do so.

Joe Mixon - RB - Sooners

MMQB's Peter King reports that Oklahoma RB Joe Mixon as "garnered the most interest" from Cincinnati, Minnesota, Green Bay and Jacksonville.

"I won’t be surprised to see the Bengals take Mixon with the 41st overall pick," King added. "Owner Mike Brown has taken chances in the past on players with off-field issues, leaving it to the coaching staff to keep those players in line." Each of these teams has hosted Mixon for a visit. If Mixon is to sneak into Rd. 1, Green Bay, picking near the end of Thursday night's festivities, looks to be his best shot.

Simple. Their mocks, almost always unless otherwise noted, are what they think the teams will do based off the intel they get from everything around the league, not what they personally would do if they were in charge of every team's pick(s).

Maybe once or twice a calendar season they will shake it up and each do a mock based on what they would do but it's almost always done based on what they're hearing and not so much on personal feelings.

They might be the most interesting team in round one for me personally based on who could fall into their laps. I have very bad feelings about who they'll wind up with.

As vocal as I've been against Mahomes all along, if Arians decided he was the guy for him I'd probably be a bit less vocal about his chances just because of the respect I have for Arians as a coach and developer of offense. I'd still like to see them go that route if I had to pick somebody realistic for them but I wouldn't be as "ha ha" about it if it was Arians that said, "I'm going to make this guy work."

I have multiple remotes lined up for me to throw at my windows for the next 3 days but if on the other hand Arians and company ended up with Kizer in a reasonable spot for a reasonable pick(s), I'd probably have to lose some of those remotes on a development like that one.

Off topic, random, draft day, football rant.....

Anytime you're watching TV, listening to the radio, watchng a video online, etc., coming from one or multiple people and they start their discussion or whatever with, "How many players can you name on (insert team name here)," in reference to the lack of a talent said team has.

Just shut the TV off, turn down the dial, or X out of the box online if anybody ever does that when talking about a team. It's lazy. If you can't name several players on every single team then chances are high you aren't very good at what you do or you are cheating folks at home of good discussion IMO.

If your point is that team X doesn't have very much talent and there aren't a lot of guys who are building block type players and an infusion of talent is needed by them in order to compete, say that instead. That's fine. I have no problem with that. I just can't stand it when somebody proves they aren't connected to a sport because they think it's OK that they can't name multiple players on every team.

End of rant.
