Could Jones finally be the answer for fast TE who have seemed to eat up the packers for a decade.

Old school +1

There better be some serious BPA stuff going on here because like you said our pass rush will be beyond terrible this coming season.Which means our defense overall will once again be beyond terrible.Which means another season of a prime Aaron Rodgers will be once again wasted.

You can have a solid NFL defense with a mediocre secondary if you have a really good pass rush. You can't have a solid NFL defense with a bad pass rush and a great secondary.

Not exactly enlightening anyone here unless Ted Thompson reads this board, but it has to be said.King and Jones better be studs.

I hope so with 4.4 speed and athletic ability.

Major upgrade out of the box over Hyde? Curious.

Oh wow. Trip down memory lane. How long did he last? Like 2-3 years?

Not sure if Jones is going to spend more time at safety or covering TE's, but you have to think this allows Burnett to play up in the box

Lots of disrespect for former Virgina Destroyer and UFL Championship Game MVP Aaron Rouse in this thread.

He pick 6ed Peyton Manning back in 08 that's about the only good thing he ever did. I don't think he stuck around long.

Aaron Rouse had a 99 yard interception return. I don't think this Jones guy will ever do that. Complete fail!

I just have a great feeling about this pick. Hoping he's a Nick Collins

Every year I go through the combine data and flag guys with unusual weight/speed/agility set ups. These dudes seem to tend to overperform draft slot if they like football. Anyway, flagged this guy.

This pick tells me we're going to see a bunch of hybrid nickel packages this year. They had success with moving Burnett down to the box and I'd expect to see him and jones both do it this year.

Love adding more speed with the first two picks. This D desperately needed it.

Josh Jones will be a star.

Closest thing to Nicky Collins we've had. Could be even better.

With his size could he be switched to play middle linebacker? Having a guy who can rush and cover with that speed seems like what that spot has been missing.

Yeah, I see it too. He's the least flawed player we acquired. I would be really surprised if he weren't legit starting caliber and he has the physical tools, aggression, and seemingly awareness to be a pro bowler. But we have had a virtual consensus on a guy TT has drafted before only to later have egg on our faces. I could see him playing with HCD and it being interchangeable who the free and strong is. That's valuable now given the greater emphasis on passing.

I'm hoping this is a plan.

I suspect we see him in the Deone Bucannon role primarily, and it's one of the reasons I love the pick. We need 4.4 speed in the middle of the field more than maybe any team in the league.

Nick Collins was well on his way to the HOF before his injury. He was arguably the best playmaking safety in the league. His stats back that up and he was basically Ed Reed. Better than Nick is hard to imagine he would need to be Rod Woodson basically.
