Wow, Tony Snell has 2 pts, 2 reb and 2 ast in 31 mins during a close elimination game and messes up an important play...how can Bucks fans want him back at $9-10 mil a year?

He's a 10-15 mpg guy off the bench, 8 or 9-11 type. Snell is a relatively low volume 3pt shooter who doesn't typically get rebs or asts. While he is pretty good on defense, he's no Bruce Bowen.

Anyone who gives him more than $5-6 mil/yr is overpaying.

If the Bucks want to advance in the playoffs they can't be starting guys like that. Tony is a legit NBA player these days, I give him credit for that. But the thing is, guys like that are available for cheap every summer. Bellinelli, Canaan, Nate Robinson, DJ, E'Twaun Moore ... we got them all for NBA minimum wage, or close to it. No point in spending real money on guys like Snell. Get one of them on the cheap and spend the money on guys who really matter.

All that said, of course Tony is better than what we got for him in the trade. No question about that.

Not sure what PG thinks. He might be looking to move. It's a good chance for some team to get him.

It's not easy running a team. Ask Larry, ask Phil. Only Riley still keeps ticking. Him and our Paxson along with Buford.

Kudos to Bird. He did a great job with limited resources.

That's what I'm thinking too. They are going to blow up the team. But even if they won't, it's hard to imagine what all-star or superstar would go to that team for additional help.

Plus, PG has been playing like a knucklehead after the commercialism of himself went up, which makes me think he shouldn't be the primary guy to build around too. There would be games where they would have leads or need key baskets, and rather than utilizing his ability to take the ball to the paint or to make the extra pass, he would try to flop, force up some bad 3s or bad long 2s, taking his team out the game.

Watching the Jazz game and can't help but wonder how different our team would've been if we drafted Gobert instead of Snell. Hard to imagine Thomas getting to the hoop so easily if Gobert was there to clog the paint.

Should be noted that the only reason Tony started was because Jabari got injured.

If Jabari can bounce back, then Snell will be a solid piece off the bench.

Snell had some really nice games all season for the Bucks, though. He's not a go to guy where you can single out a bad game and call him a bad player.

He's low usage but he's become uber-efficient in Milwaukee. He's valuable to them because he can swing between SG and SF and be a 3/D option. He's your Keith Bogans with a bit more positional versatility and length.

Yep, in hindsight, he turned out shooting 3s even better at a higher volume, and his efficiency went up despite not being the go-to guy.

I think the FO thought he had the talent to be close to Jimmy's level, and since it wasn't happening, there was no longer any room for him with McD, Zipser and Valentine being on the team. But the guy who was really the odd man out was Doug the whole time. His value is now looking worse than even Tony's.

Yeah, everybody missed on Gobert and Giannis in that draft. Anyone could have used their pick or traded up to get either or both of those guys.

The Celtics handled the Utahs pretty well this year though. Isaiah Thomas had 29 pts on 10-18 with 15 assists in one game, and 29 pts on 9-16 in the other game. They put 5 shooters on the floor, forced Gobert outside and Thomas drove through the partially vacated lane.
