It's going to be a straight boxing bout - boxing ring, gloves and rules.

Then I don't see a way Conor wins. Mayweather's defense is the best in the business.

The thing is, at some point in the near future, FLoyd won't be able to beat Conor simply because of age... is that this year? maybe not, but if it isn't, how far out do people think that time is? Post 40 athletes can fall off the proverbial cliff at any moment. I'd never bet on one that hasn't fought in a while just because it's almost like a complete unknown.

Gaethje signed with UFC. And btw, although I'm a fan and agree with you that he's good, Iaquinta SMASHES Gaethje with ease...using boxing too.

Not gonna lie, I thought I would get some bites with this one. Not that I'm baiting, I do think Iaquinta matches up really well with Gaethje. I just don't mean it quite as strongly as I portrayed in this post. :D

I can't recall Iaquinta's boxing, TBH. And Gaethje is sorta shot, I suspect...all that Grudge training. He slurs his words badly. I am unsure why the UFC would even pick-up JG at this point in his career. Are they just going to throw him in against brawlers and get a couple FOTN candidates out of him before the wheels fall off? He has no chance of getting into the top 10.

So, yeah, I will look into this Iaquinta character. Seems like a fine young man.
Hi love, bye love, I will miss my love.

He's the type who is always ready and willing to give his KOed opponents' an extra couple of shots to remember him by.

Nate on a special 1.5 hour long episode of the MMAHour. I'm only a few minutes in but he's already started rambling and its gold as usual.

Said its funny how Dana describes him as a 200 lb monster middleweight when he's fighting Conor, but then turns around and wants him to fight at LW vs Tony. Says he is walking around at 174 right now eating whatever and whenever he wants.

I don't know about that, maybe 2, 3, 4 years from now. Floyd's defense is the best in the business and I believe he has fought a few boxers with quicker hand speed than Conor.

So the UFC announced the next TUF was going to be for the inaugural women's 125 belt. And then they said it's not official.

Lol anyone see Kevin Lee smoke Chiesa in the face at the presser? Not a fan of either guy so I'm just sitting back eating popcorn. Not sure wtf Chiesa expected when he ran up on him like that.

Kevin Lee went on a whole tirade about how people are saying he's trying to be like Conor, but really, Conor is just trying to be like him.

Who the hell ever compared Kevin Lee to Conor?

Both Chiesa and Lee have Ultimate Fighting Championship skills with Trailer Park Fights personalities.

In the least surprising Dana White move that makes a past comment a lie, Jones is now in the main event of UFC 214 - against D.C. of course.

edit: I guess it being the main event isn't official.

You should show more respect to Lee's game. Athletic and well-rounded guy who can be a contender. Beating Drinaldo in Brasil was no joke.

Chiesa is a solid fighter at this point too. That's a good match.

But the referendum on their personalities is on point.

I used to like Lee, but he went company man, and cut off the fighter's noses to spite their faces in mocking Iaquinta when he went Raging Al on the UFC's mistreatment of fighters. That was really off-putting.

As for Chiesa, he's one of those irrational guys when in the heat of the battle if you mention anyone in their family, regardless who it's actually disrespectful to if at all, they lose their minds. That's a bad look for civility. If Lee wanted to emulate Conor or even better, he'd have responded with some pro wrestling schtick about how he's more civilized and he'd win one for the evolution of a species. Some British guy used to do that in WWF, I forgot his name, but that would have been funny and I'd like to see someone bring that mentality to MMA. Chael did to some degree. He's still the gold standard over Conor. If he had a country behind him, actual entertaining style, and didn't choke; he'd have been the full service GOAT.

I said both have UFC skills. I wasn't knocking their fighting at all.
