We saw it in the Hawks series...
Every game he loses he steps it up another level...
I think wall is understanding he has to do it all non stop...
He can't rely on beal as much as he did in the regular season...
We will see wall doing alot more driving...less assist and a lot more scoring...expect a monster 50+ game from wall next game...along with a win...
If there's any player in the league that feeds off the competitivemess it's wall
Wizards in 6
INFINITE BEHIND THE BACK DRIBBLES AFTER POUNDING THE ROCK FOR 23 SECONDS.
in all seriousness though, the way wall can do more is by giving any effort at all on defense, not scoring more. Cs gameplan is to let him jack up jumpshots and he went 3-10 from 3. 20 assists and solid defense would've won them either one of these last two games. he can't fight through a screen to save his life.
He can't get assists if his teammates can't hit shots...he still shot 50% for the game...il rather see a confident John wall than any of his nervous team mates shooting...
The thing with teams like Boston and Houston is the whole team wants to see their star player be the man...there's no egos involved...if we construct our offensive gameplan to wall getting to the rack or getting an easy mismatch instead of trying to get good looks for guys that have been missing shots we can keep leads...
Once wall starts to get double or become a more focal point offensively than he can go into passing mode...
This team is holding wall back period...he gave effort on defense he can't switch every single screen especially when they're illegal and moving screens...
He took some I'll advised 3s in overtime but who else was going to get open to shoot them...maybe if we gameplan for him to get to the rim he wouldn't have to take those 3s...
Wall is going down a chis Paul path rn...and it may be good for his numbers but it's not good for winning...
He needs to put it all on the line miss or not foul or not...put the game in wall hands and create lanes for him instead of him having to create for others
