Like I said...Lala was successful before Melo was even finished with Highschool. I don't think that Melo has had any relevance on her career what-so-ever. If anything, all he has done is bring negative attention towards her. Just because Melo is the more well known name, doesn't mean Lala "needed" him to be where she is. Shes been working in the industry for a long time. Has developed her own relationships and contacts throughout the years. Maybe she met some people through Melo, but that's the same with any relationship. Lala was more involved with Hiphop then Melo was/is... She is starring in a TV show produced by 50 cent. I doubt she needed Melo to get her job/role on Power. And Carmelo for sure isn't the one acting for her on screen. Stop trying to downplay what a successful woman has done in her career and make this about Melo.
Saying "Lets not act like being married to Melo didn't help her career" has got to be one of the dumbest, misogynistic things I have read in a while. Almost like saying "Lala would be nothing without 50 cent...because its his show and if not for him casting her , she wouldn't be relevant right now " Lala is an actress who earned a spot through networking/contacts and skill for a role in a TV show. Was a well known name in the hip-hop/pop community well before Power/Melo. Stop trying to downplay her career and make Melo seem like the good guy here. Not every woman wants to be just a "basketball wife"
