Make sense Internationals:
Thomas Heurtel, Nicolo Melli, Anthony Randoph, Tyler Honeycutt, and Derrick Brown

Nets change course next year, it's not a pure development year.
Decisions will be made.

Development, being competitive, and winning are on deck.
Some one must go.

At least three of the following: Levert, Whitehead, Dinwiddie, Kilpatrick, McDaniel, or Young

GM already admitted a SF the area of need.

History has shown that high usage scoring doesn't translate well from the EL to the NBA. Low usage, high efficiency scoring, passing, and defense much more so. Look for elite role players in the EL as the guys most likely make a similar impact as role players in the NBA.

Teodosic is a little different. Although a high usage scorer, he is an elite playmaker, passer and I think that will translate. His defense is horrible in EL mostly do to effort. It seems he conserves himself on defense b/c he is so high usage on offense. Don't expect much from the defensive end from him though, but with reduced usage and more effort he could be a much better defender. I don't think he has the Nets on his list of teams he would play for anyways. Denver, Utah seem to be in the mix.

Any need for an uber-athletic, elite defender at the 4 or 5 spot? Take a look at Khem Birch on Olympiacos. I think he would translate into a solid bench big in the NBA. A very athletic, somewhat undersized big who bring something to the 2nd unit.

This is a good read on the topic.

He will be finishing year 1 of a two year contract. But the 2nd year is an options, but don't know if it is his option or Olympiacos's.

Both Lessort and Pasecniks are not free agents though, they are going to be drafted this year and are talked about in the draft thread.

Levert/Whitehead/Dinwiddie/Mcdaneil arent going anywhere. and im not sure who "young" is? maybe you meant goodwin? he isnt going anywhere either.

Foye is gone
Skil is probably on the chopping block(Marks probably wants to get him his money and we need to go with younger guys here)
Lopez/Booker/Hamilton are all trade possibilites
Acys option could be declined if we draft multiple bigs

Moving foye puts us at 3 rosters spots, so right there that accounts for the 3 draft picks.

then we likely move 1-2 guys to go after free agents

id assume skil and either booker/hamilton is traded

Lopez doesnt really free up a spot, since if they move him its probably for a pick.

i dont want to draft any big where Defense isnt a strength an if defense shows as a weakness then i dont even want to consider him. that goes for american rookies/FA as well

Return to Brooklyn Nets
