Game #2 - Tigers 10 - Blue Jays 9

Magglio Ordonez should be shot, though the wind was probably playing havoc out there. For that reason I can forgive the bloopers that fell in, however the attempt at the sliding catch was a silly mistake. I don't know what he was thinking other than maybe playing on tilt (poker reference) given the bloopers that fell in earlier that same inning. He did make a nice grab to eventually end the inning.

Another player who gets the finger of shame is Curtis Granderson. Yeah, I'm giving the finger of shame to a player who hit a grandslam. I know it will definitely be a lesson learned for him and I'll only get pissed off if he does it again, but not scoring in the bottom of the 7th when he was on third almost turned out to be disasterous. I understand we were up 10-2 and you don't want to pile it on, but Detroit's mantra last season was "9 Innings", and he simply should have scored on the Polanco flyout.

I never have confidence when Rodney is in any ball game, he's just too inconsistant and it's been that way his whole career. Just when you think the light might have turned on and he gets it, le starts laying eggs again.

Todays game has been postposed and will be made up in September.

Grandersons grand slam was nice. He's really becoming a very good player.

I figured that I'd post in this one just because it's the only post where I didn't give my 2 cents on this board..

I think that early in that inning, Mags didn't dive for the balls because we were up so big, than he did later when he clearly shouldn't have.

I was screaming when Granderson didn't score and the guys on the radio were talking about how "Classy" he was for not trying to score. I laughed...

Baseball is never over... There is no set time limit which allows for any deficit to be overcame.

There is no such thing as running up the score in baseball. You score when you can..

That being said, Granderson is in for a big year. I'm excited for this kid

Return to Detroit Tigers
