1-Dallas isn't trading Barnes
2-The Portland deals are absolute TRASH

With that said I might consider the Rubio / Dunn + #6 for Barnes + 2018 1st .. I don't trade Barnes +9 to move up to 6th ..

I do like the Idea of getting 6th and 9th in this draft and $10 Million in space if it's Rubio or $20 Million if it's Dunn . There is risk that Barnes is better than 6th ..

That's a tough one. Yes, we should at least consider it. However, I would say no to Dunn but Rubio in such case. Then, we find Gallinari as the final piece. With the 6th and 9th, we'll get a quality PG. Or we may trade up for a much higher pick. That's a scenario we may consider.

Rubio + #6 for Barnes + Golden States 2019 2nd + Brussino / Hammons

C - Noel / Mejri / Hammons
PF - Dirk / 9th pick
SF - Gallo / DFS
SG - Matthews / Curry / Brussino
PG - Rubio / 6th pick / Barea
(assume that we won't pick up option on Devin Harris)

It is Dunn + 6th pick, then I won't part with 2018 pick. And I think Minny should take back Powell and Matthews in return.

Dunn + #6 + Pevokic (who should require medication that he'll never play again and his contract will not count against the cap) + a future 2nd for Matthews + Powell + #9 + a future first (lottery protected)

C - Noel / Mejri / Hammons
PF - Griffin? Millsapp? / Dirk
SF - Barnes / DFS
SG - Matthews / Curry / Brussino
PG - 6th pick / Barea / Dunn
(assume that we won't pick up option on Devin Harris)

I would also consider Rubio for Matthews + 9th pick if Fox, Smith and Ntilina are all gone. That is beneficial to both team. Minny may pick Markkanen with 9th pick and trade Wiggins for a quality PG. Or they may overpay Derrick Rose or Jeff Teague for PG position.

I'm not trading #9 to get rid of Matthews for Rubio

The most I give up for Rubio would be Matthews + 2018 lottery Protected 1st . So if all the Point Guards are gone then Dallas probably takes Markannen or Issac at #9 ( I don't see how Smith / Fox /Frank / Markannen / Issac all being gone at 9 )

PG-Rubio / Yogi / Barea
SG-Curry / Brussinon/_____
SF-Barnes / DFS / Uhtoff
PF-Dirk / Markannen-Issac / Powell
C-Noel / Mejri / Hammons

I still look for takers of Barea / Powell in 2017 and then again in 2018 if they are still here

Also in the above post I don't want Milsapp at 32 years old for a fresh 4 year max contract . He's a good player but he definitely doesn't fit The direction of Dallas

What else would be needed in addition to Oladipo to get Barnes?

Realize I am likely alone here, but I'd do a deal headlined by Barnes for Dipo/Sabonis. And I'd throw back in Seth Curry to fill the SG hole for the Thunder.

So Barnes/Curry for Dipo/Sabonis would be the deal I would be looking for.

And if OKC could bring back Gibson and Roberson, then

Adams/Kanter
Barnes/Gibson
Roberson/Barnes
Curry/Albrines
Westbrook/Curry

Is a pretty balanced 8 man playoff rotation.

So you took my offer, removed Seth Curry going to OKC and added the OKC 1st coming to Dallas? Obviously I love the changes for Dallas, but in no way do I believe that represents Barnes actual value.

If we did that trade, Roberson better not start over Barnes. Assuming we can move Kanter, I like that trade.

I have the two of them starting together with Barnes picking up some SF minutes as well to accommodate Gibson.

Given Oladipo is at least as good if not better than Barnes why would you want to add anything?

Oladipo was very frustrating this year. Barnes seems like he could be a more reliable second option. I didn't watch enough of Dallas to know if Harrison Barnes could be a more stable second option or just more of the same.

Yes, it is. Barnes is consistent as a first option right now. But he's too consistent. He rarely exceeds our expectation. His mean stats is 20 point per game regardless of opponents. He's got solid mid-range and up-and-under moves. He plays average to above average defense. Despite some limitations, he's still way better than Oladipo who's a major reason for Rocket easy first round swap.
