I will say this Patryk...you, Fleet and City are true supportive Bears fans. I myself feel more like "morbidly curious", since my impression is Pace punted on this season in favor of an experimental/ developmental approach. Much more changeover than I would have expected at this point.

Im getting optimistic about the season. I haven't heard much from Glennon, but what I have heard makes him sound like he'll be a good leader.

Long is being moved to LG. Our interior is about to be real serious. Im curious to see what happens with Grassu, Before he got hurt, I expected him to have a huge impact and maybe even be in the running for the probowl. My guess would be that he'll be the back up since our lineman like getting hurt so ofter, but I wonder if the bears will test his skills at other positions. Maybe if he shows a lot of promise as a guard Long will be moved to RT but I don't think that is likely. It would be great if Grassu could play RT because Massie is trash.

I think this is exactly the perfect scenario. Several things happened this off-season to benefit the future of the organization and of the product on the field:

1) Pace is linked to Trubisky, who will not be given a "bust" label for at least three years. It also means Pace can sign a coach that will be perfect for the QB and not the other way around

2) The Bears signed a lot of "prove it" players. This gives them flexibility and allows them to snag someone cheap and hope for some magic, like Victor Cruz, Amukamura, or Jaye Howard. This also gives a lot of depth at critical positions, like WR and DB without putting big playmakers back there (transitioning to next point)

3) They picked Trubisky which is a sign they are not looking for a huge step this season. They didn't take a Top 3 defensive player like many people thought and they didn't trade down to take several draft-ready prospects. They picked someone that is going to take time, and time is exactly what Pace needed so he can build up other parts of the team (D line and O line) and gamble on playmakers later (Sheehan, Jackson). Trubisky won't make a big impact this season like a top-flight safety would, so they will have a high pick again next season and they already have their QB (transition)

4) So they can trade their pick next season and move down for someone who is QB crazy that may give up a lot to move. Or, they can theoretically take the top defender in the class. They will have cap and draft flexibility by not going broke this off season

Based on all of that, I am looking forward to seeing:

Kevin White perform closer to his potential and learn the position more
Jordan Howard continue to improve his blocking and pass catching (and staying healthy)
Floyd continue to improve and reach double digit sacks this season
The o line young pieces learn to be a unit
The defense staying healthy

It'll be interesting and I'll definitely watch, but there's no way I'm going to get my hopes up about the Bears achieving anything this year.

Below is a post from our 2016/2017 thread. It was the final post I made evaluating the roster. We didn't get the names I wanted, but we addressed each position (except OT, which I'm ok with) and usually with two or more quality players.
Qb: Glennon and Trubisky instead of Garoppolo, who would've cost more than the two combined plus several draft picks without being more proven. Current starter and super high upside guy to develop. We all wanted a guy to develop.
Wr: Cruz, Wright, Wheaton. With White and Meredith that's a really good top 5. I will also add Shaheen because I think he will be that big-body outlet guy that everyone needs. He's the top addition to the receiving Corp in my opinion. (4 solid additions, 1 loss - Jeffrey)
De: Jaye Howard, and about Roy R-H will switch and looks really good. Hopefully Bullard can take a step forward. No big time addition but plenty of upside.
Fs: Quintin Demps led the league in interceptions last year. He and Amos will be a great combination. Tons of excellent young depth.
Cb: Cooper was a pro bowler. Amukamara is a quality starter. This will let Fangio use one of these two or Fuller in a specialty role to cover all the great TEs in our division. Plus Callahan and LeBlanc are excellent young guys.
Ot: just drafted the guy late in the draft. Massie was the only real weakness on the line. He was really good once he engaged his blocks but clearly had a hard time processing and reacting quickly enough to block the correct guy. Hopefully another year in the offense and next to a pro bowler will help, but I doubt it. We'll see.

We covered all the bases pretty damn well if I do say so myself. I'm impressed.

Top needs <br />QB, WR, DE, FS, CB, OT<br /><br />Re-sign Jeffery.<br />Sign Berry/Jefferson.<br /><br />Trade 2nd and 4th this year, plus 2nd next year for Garoppolo.<br /><br />Sign one of the top 5 CBs or top 5 OTs.<br /><br />Draft<br />Acquiring the QB the Browns wanted, Garoppolo, forces the Browns to reach. They take a QB #1.<br />If Cousins sign with SF, they draft Garrett. If they do not acquire Cousins, they probably still draft Garrett, but may reach even further than the Browns and take a second QB. <br /><br />That leaves us Allen. As long as we make sure that at least the Browns needs a QB and don't get Garoppolo. In this scenario, mission accomplished.<br /><br />#3 Allen<br />3rd round CB/OT<br /><br /><br />That fills every major need. Jefferson is a much more realistic option than Berry. According to the Kansas City Star, free agent Jeremy Maclin "looked spry" in OTA practices and ran with the first-team offense prior to his shocking Friday night release.Cap expert Joel Corry indicated Maclin's release may have been almost entirely salary-cap related. The Chiefs' only other high-salary, cut-able veteran was Tamba Hali, but his salary is guaranteed. "They had the most cap commitments of anyone in the league for 2018 prior to the (Maclin) move," Corry said. "They’re going to have to do something else next year. They’re not in good shape, cap-wise." The Chiefs' likeliest 2018 move for cap relief is moving on from Alex Smith.
