As you know its a term used to describe the temperament of a player. And in the modern use of the term I agree Durant is not a "alpha" personality. But that has not stopped him from becoming one of the great players in the NBA. Durant is proof that an elite player does not need to have an aggressive personality to be an elite player. That proof is what is relavent to a draft discussion, especially as a rightly or wrongly Isaac has been compared to Durant in that aspect.

Goes to NBA and in first season looks like allstar? Check.
Goes to NBA finals at age of 23 ? Check
Scoring 30 000 points before turning 29? Check.
Draining 30 ppg in face of Lebron James in nba finals, being only one of big four from OKC that actually showed up ? Check.
Having freaking 65% TS on 25 ppg in one season? Check.
32 ppg on 50% FG for a season? Check.

Literally, he is one ring away from being cemented as second best SF ever. ( Sorry Bird and Pippen ). And no,Isaac is not next Durant. if you think he can be ,you already set yourself for disappointment because we have never seen player like Durant, and wemost likely won't for many many years.
Blaming coaching stuff to not play through him feels like blaming Barcelona coach for not playing Hezonja more. Don't think you know more than coaches about players, you don't. They see them 3 times a day , they watch all their trainings and workouts.
