ITS CALLED A SLUMP. He also didn't get extended opportunites to get back in a groove until felix got sent down and jacque had the guarantee that he had consistent playing time without having to worry about losing his starting job. when guys get in slumps, they press, they try too hard and it gets worse with the threat of a guy taking over your job... you said the same with matt murton.
3 out of the 4 past seasons he's been in a slump then?

He is a below average player who does nothing well.

i didn't mean to compare him directly to patterson... i just mean that the cubs should let him develop a little more and work and some of the little things that lou has had him work on. just a little wary of corey because they both strike out a lot and never walk. the cubs are winning. until they need a spark, i see no reason to rush pie back to the majors.

So, Lou shouldn't field the best team? He should keep running out the B team as long as we're winning? False.
Lou should put the best team on the field and the best team possible team includes Pie in CF.

Pie is ready for this stage though, thats the point.
The Cubs did a terrible job handling Patterson's development, but Pie has been babied and brought up the right way. He's excelled at every minor league level of competition, and its now time for him to get his chance to excel on the biggest stage of all. He has nothing left to prove in the minors and nothing left to develop. His next (and final) stage of development is everyday CF for the Cubs.

If anything, you want to bring Pie up right now while the Cubs are so hot. Players feed off of each other, and the momentum of the team.

I wouldn't go so far to say .250 in his prime. in 5 of his 9 years in mlb he hit above .285
and overall, he's not a bad fielder. granted he doesn't have nearly the speed, range, or arm of felix pie... but he's an avg cf and has a good arm when he's not a head case throwing the ball straight into the ground... which i'll admit nowadays is most of the time.

Dude watch him sometime. He is a terrible outfielder.
He always throws the ball into the ground. Making him a useless & a terrible outfielder.
